The First Excursion: 2 by Penplat
Well, this page certainly gave me practice drawing typhlosions. This marks the first time Mama and Papa ‘Phlosion have been seen outside the questions mini-series. Little bit of behind-the-scenes news: I now have dedicated a sketchbook for hashing out scene layout/dialogue ideas. It’s already been helping out a lot in getting this page in particular done, as it helps me visualize the scenes better before I even begin the final version (i.e., the work on the virtual canvas). I’d like to thank @Witzke for giving me the idea to do this! I plan to use the sketchbook not only for the Pokemon comics, but also for the comics involving Alan and company.

Cyndaquil/Quilava/Typhlosion are my favourite starters! This is such an endearing tale. It's so full of heart and relatable!

Ah, I love your comics! They look so animated! Is Quill showing his parents stories about explorers to convince them to let him be an explorer?

Working things out on paper is certainly helpful!
Re: I'd recommend starting with Shantae: Risky's Revenge (Director's Cut). It's a good example of the general gameplay of the series. Not quite as above-and-beyond polished as the others, but still far above average.
That being said, don't get the version on the 3DS eShop. It's the original version and lacks some of the extra features of the Director's Cut, and also costs a little more.
Pirate's Curse is quite good, but the gameplay is a bit different than all the others. Half-Genie Hero is also good, but uses a level-based setup the rest of them don't use.

Nice work on this page! Now we see Quill's parents! I love how Quill is xD The border in thus one is deffinetly looking better.
