They are resistant to all disease and magic though fragile physically. They make up for it in being the most nimble varient.
They control plants as their element and hunt forest dragons. However, with their great resistance to magic they often assist other varients with hunting ANY dragon.
Their horns are indestructable, but when they become human the scar where their horns were in human form is a terrible weak point...

I am very fond of Aerodactyl as well! Both of my favourite Pokemon characters, Red and Lance, have one in the manga!
