"It's lonely here, I'm afraid," the wolf sighed, resting her head on her paws. Taking one last glance out at the swirling snow, she gave up on her magic. Moonlight replaced the soft teal glow that had shimmered across the smooth stone walls as the words adressed to no one faded into the cold night.
Shivering, she fell into a restless sleep.

Another figure emerged from the shadows, a cat with a coat as white as the snow and wide chocolate-brown eyes. She walked wordlessly over the the pair and sat down, watching the two furry bodies, perhaps trying to think of something to say.

The cat nodded and settled down where she had pointed. Crimson red scarf fluttering in the bitter wind, she laid her tail over the sleeping wolf.

The cat glanced at the stone walls surrounding them, still not uttering a word. She didn't want to break the silence. It felt peaceful.

After watching at the bleak walls for a moment longer, the cat gave a huge but quiet yawn and fluffed up her fur, laying her head down on her paws. She looked over at the ram, silently inviting her to come and take a rest.

The cat's eyes drifted shut and in a few minutes she was asleep, warmed by her companions. A flake of snow landed on her ear and it twitched.

The cat dreamed of a forest, with trees so close together they blocked out the feeble sunlight. Her tail swished through the snow and she mewled quietly, then went still again.

Opening her silvery eyes, the wolf noticed the two new animals. Not wanting to alarm them, she slowly shifted her teal paws and sighed softly. Without realizing, the peaceful environment caused the teal markings to glow softly with a cool light, shimmering off of the smooth walls as she breathed just as the northern lights she was named after.

The cat was too deeply asleep to feel the wolf stir, but kept running along the path of her dream-forest.

Sighing once more, the young she-wolf drifted into a more peacful rest. The teal glow softened slightly as her tail twitched, scattering light across the stone. The moon was covered with clouds by now, snow swirling outside. Even though her friend had not yet returned, she had made new ones.

Reaching the end of the path in her dream-forest, the cat woke up. The wolf had shifted a little, the ram had stayed awake, but everything was still silent and peaceful. Despite it being so cold, she felt warm and content in that cave(?).

(okie doke. just warning, i might have to leave soon? i dunno how soon though)

In her sleep, the wolf was trekking up a mountain. However, her paws seemed to float above the ground. Beside her was a tall canine of sorts, trotting gracefully as three tails flowed behind it. A blue mane stood out underneath its belly and on its back, and a set of deer-like horns held a bright green feather with a blue dot on them, tied on with a dull string. The animal's teal eyes were narrowed as it kept going.

The cat watched the snow drifting outside, thinking of nothing in paticular. She was sure the air got a little warmer.

As the ram shifted, the wolf continued her ghostly trek on the dream mountain. She saw them come up to a place between the mountains. A deep gorge lay between them, and they were connected by a thing bridge of stone. The wind died down as the animal slowly started on the bridge, getting faster as it became more confident in the familiar path. Just as they could hear the dripping of water on stone, the wolf woke back up. Both of her new companions were awake now, though the ram was beginning to fall asleep.

The cat sensed the wolf awakening. She wondered what her new friend had been dreaming about - maybe a sweet dream, maybe a nightmare dark enough to never be forgotten. Maybe something in between.

[i might draw a bit too since i have a lot to draw, so i might randomly not respond for a bit]

Noticing the cat notice her, [lol] the wolf just stared straight ahead. Feeling suddenly full of energy, she subconsciously strengthened her glow and focused on the snow. Tracing a pattern in the sky with her eyes, she made the flakes dance, even against the wind. When she blinked, the snow quickly stopped and kept on with the direction of the wind. Lightly thumping her tail on the ground, the wolf filled the cave with dancing light and snow.

The cat's eyes stretched wide, the little animal surprised by the pretty dancing lights all around the cave. She smiled in delight.

The cat, made sleepy by the warmth and the lights, lay her head back down to sleep for the rest of the night.

Entranced by her own abilities, the wolf slowly stopped. Her pelt still shone softly as the snow melted in the new warmth of the shallow cave. She fell back asleep, dreaming this time of her old friends, letting the red mane of the wolf and yellow antlers of the deer provide her even more comfort. In her dream, a soft pink glow made patterns on the smooth stone walls.
