I always fear that I'll mess something up when a picture I'm drawing is looking acceptable. That's why I tend to make an unreasonable amount of backups of every picture I draw (10-20) so I can always go back to a certain point if I do mess it up.

Yup I do the same when I feel I need to. I find the branch painting tool really useful for this since i can essentially turn back time xD one feature I really like about colors.
