Shadow Mists have three types:
-solid
-liqued
-smoke
Each of them has several abilities which depending on there type.
But there are few things that are the same.

-can morth there bodies to hide in the Shadows
-seeing perfect in the dark
-consuming shadows

Shadow Mists usually are very distrusting and sometimes agresive towards humans.
Its an old fight.
Humans are scared because the Shadow Mists are consuming also Shadows of Humans. It isn't actually bad for them as long the aren't consuming the whole shadow. The Humans was first living in peace with them. But some Mists have consumed the shadows completely what turned the humans into empty shells of themselves. The Humans which was already against the Shadow Mists wanted to extinct every singel one off them even the innocent. So a war broke what they once bounded together.
The age until they are 35 years old like humans but stop aging then.
But that dosent mean they are immortal they just live longer then the humans and they can get killed.
