The sky barge floated lazily into view, crossing over from the desert into the luscious fruit fields filled with burnished golden fruits that tasted of the heavens. The barge carried one passenger & she alone was the reason the fields below were filled with members of the High Yggdrasillian Guard along with Xanthro's trusted As.sas.sin, Cris Fontelli.

The Godlord had painted a horrific picture of the vile desert girl, known in these parts as "The Sandstorm," which just did not settle well with Cris, at all. Though he was programmed to follow Xanthro's every order, Cris couldn't help but question, for once, if the Godlord was wrong.

Since he gave his body away to be rewired into an Automaton solider, Cris felt his previous life had been overridden & he could no longer remember his true human existance. But, whenever Cris fought with that girl or was close enough to her, he felt sparks of humanity alight amid the wiring & oil in his mechanical body, & he desperately hoped she would help him regain his true self.

As the call to prepare to board the barge rang through the field, Cris grasped the old, worn letter he'd carried for so long into battle & into his darkest days. He desperately longed to find his missing half & he somehow knew the Sandstorm would help make sense of it all.

His new smile, that twisted predatory smirk, crawled across his face as he folded the letter away & prepared to battle.

She was his only hope now.
