@Gills: I used to use a hat similar to that in Little Big Planet, so when I was trying to come up with something for the Ball, that particular hat popped into my head and I just rolled with it. XD
As for the overall design, I'll admit I wasn't thinking to hard on matching any particular style, so I just kinda added and removed details until I came up with something that looked decent. Of course, it's actually supposed to look a little awkward, because Cliff doesn't have the best fashion sense. X'D
