He closed the furnace's door and turned his attention completely at me. "You see, I have a very special present for you this year..." he said, while walking out of the workshop. I sat on his chair waiting for him. He came back carrying something that looked heavy... "You know what this is Clover?" "A... Stone? It's big..." He chuckled again at my statement. "It's not a stone, and it's actually pretty small considering what it is... With a size like this, it means it'll take... Mmmh, around a month, I'd say." Whatever it was, it looked weird: it was crimson and glowed bright green at the top of it. As soon as he touched it, some orange orbs started orbitating around it. I stood up and got near the weird stone thing. I tried to touch it... It was warm, and pulsating, like if it was... Alive. "Take really good care of this, Clover. I'm sure it'll be grateful to you..." "But... What is it...?" "You will see." he smirked and helped me putting the weird object in my bag. I waved goodbye and run outside, without knowing it'd be my last time seeing Grandpa, and my first meeting with what would have become, in about a month, my best friend."
