Yeah, that's a little nicer. Foregrounds are typically more detailed than backgrounds (so in a way, it's a bit lazier to use less foreground). But backgrounds add more perspective and scenery.
At this point, I'd like to see how you decide to finish from here. Whether you go with a realistic color pallet, or stylize it with the inner-workings of your imagination, it has potential to look great. Just be patient, work at a comfortable pace, and be experimental.
