i wanna tell you this little trick just in case you cant find the DS pen ever. when i lose my DS stylist (pen) i use a ballpoint or fine point pen that has no ink in it or a maniacal Pencil that has no led. don't worry the DS touch screen is much softer than a phone or a tablet screen. its much easier to see when your drawing.
