Subject Seven was an unnamed test subject for the PSY project, a nationwide testing facility for children displaying psychic capabilities. They were monitored and given doses of drugs meant to strengthen their powers. Many children were taken off the streets of poor neighborhoods affected by the residual chemicals that were caused by the psychic and chemical warfare from the last Invasion. Seven was one of those children and has remained in the institution since in return for food and shelter.
