Axel, who is half demon, was dumped in the forest to die by his father (and raised by his demon mother) but Lucas, who was almost fully human, lived with his father until he ran away when he was 16. He became mute after his father began verbally abusing him (nothing too serious but enough to break Lucas pretty bad). He can weild fire, but it's very weak.
