Shadows are lured by magic usage and expended Magicka cells. The greater the output, the greater the lure. Curative magic will expend Magicka greatly and create an enormous signal for Shadows to find. There are few types of Magic that recycle Magicka into Eonic energy instead of expending it, such as the transformation Vex has triggered.
