Mathias can manipulate the shadows and make areas completely black, but he's terrified of the dark, so put that one together, Hahahah!
His mother, fearing he would die quickly, imbedded a phoenix gem in each heart, it caused him excruciating pain. But gave him the ability to manipulate fire and breath it, but him breathing it has given him internal damage before. He almost melted both his hearts.
