Okay so I'm guessing backstory help right?
Well let me clarify something real quick: I'm not the person who knows these characters best. You do. So if you don't agree/like what I say it's okay. You have the final say.
Okay so some suggestions:
The first one is giving me an aquatic vibe so I think it would be cool if they lived in the Orange Ocean. I can imagine she lives on an island out there and has a calm peaceful out look on life. She gets ticked off everytime the Halberd crashes into the ocean though. Her family used to live on land but she never liked it and moved to the island.
For the second one now. He lives in one of those temple like areas and is a very loud hooligan. His grammar is very weird and mispronounces words often. He wears a bunch of leaves for camoflage. He'll guide people through the ruins but only if they give him shiny things.
Sleeps in a hammock and snores in his sleep.
