Okay, so she has some sort of mental ability, but I haven't quite decided on it yet. She can either read/control minds or is telekinetic. She tends to be stern/serious--at least on the outside. And that's about all I got.
Also, I'm just going to use mind reading as her ability for now. Please keep in mind that this would prevent others from lying, etc. unless they have good mental 'armor' (in which case, she'd figure there's something fishy going on/be super guarded--could be interesting :) )
X stood on the balcony, gazing out over the forest. The sun was slowly slipping toward the horizon, throwing a pink sheen across the sky. X frowned. Something was out of place, but what? Scanning the treeline one last time, she hurried inside and down the stairs. As she passed through the door, she paused. She had been right--there was an odd presence in the woods. Carefully, she made her way toward the trees.
(Ah, that's fine!) X slowly made her way deeper into the forest, following the pulse of the unfamiliar mind. It seemed...large...and slightly unsteady, but as she drew closer, the pulse heightened. It knew she was here. No longer bothering to hide her presence, she strode confidently into the clearing, only to be confronted with...a dragon?! She blinked, and her eyes opened wide for a moment before returning to their usual half-lidded state, but that was the only outward sign of her surprise. No wonder its mind-pulse was odd. (I don't even know what I'm talking about XD hope it sounds good!)
(sounds good ^^) As if one dragon hadn't been enough! She attempted to probe deeper into the mind of the first, trying to figure out what was happening. (you can decide if she's successful/what she finds out)
X frowned, but the dragon seemed to pose no threat to her. She cautiously approached its side as she projected her peaceful intentions. /Who are you?/ (I figure she uses telepathy as her default form of communication, especially with anyone "different." It keeps outside attention down. Replies could be either verbal or mental.)
(Yeah, she can tell the meaning/intent of a thought without understanding the language) X laughed softly. /Do you have a name?/ She paused before adding, /I'm X./ (Hum, I said she probably had trust issues, but now I'm realizing that so long as she can read minds, she would know exactly who she could trust..)
X raised her hands, turning her head aside. /I mean you no harm. I was only curious./ She turned back, looking the dragon in the eye as she slowly lowered her arms. /There aren't too many who stick around when a mind-reader's in the area, after all./
/No, I won't attack./ She relaxed slightly, though. At the dragon's next words, she blinked, surprised, then smiled. After a pause, she sent a burst of thanks. The word alone seemed too small to convey the emotion.
X understood, moving out of the second dragon's view. Just in case, she carefully entered the second dragon's mind, shielding herself from detection. It only took a few moments, and when she was done, she sent a quick explanation to Creahra. She didn't want her to be distracted by protecting her.
(oh, just an explanation of her mental shield, so Creahra would know she was safe/hidden) This was just too much. She shot a quick message to Creahra--/My turn/--then focused her attention on the second dragon. Worming her way deep into its mind, she anchored herself, then screamed. (idk, it sounded like a pretty good attack--can't cover your ears against something in your head)
(Sure! I should be available somewhere around 1:00 pacific time. It's 10:00pm here right now, so I'll probably be going to bed before you have to leave, anyway :) Hmm, it could work...could make for an interesting explanation, too) The dragon writhed in agony, wide eyes wildly searching the area for his unseen opponent. Noting its effectiveness, X paused in her assault. Then she sent a brief, but persuasive, message. /Leave, or I start again./
/Glad to meet you. I don't suppose you'd be willing to tell me why that other dragon was attacking you?/ X kept her expression to a minimum, but behind the mask, she was in a state of wonder. (I'm gonna have to leave soon...)
/I'm sorry...I'm not necessarily loved, either. Like I said, not too many people stick around once they know what I am./ Her tone turned bitter. (ah, well then. What time's good for you?)
(Okay, I finally checked out your gallery (love the art, btw) and HOLY COW YOU'RE 13?? I totally thought you were my age--or older! (I'm (almost) 19) Anyway, I have to go for now, but 10 should work for me!)
(I'm just really impressed :) I tend to be mature as well, so I totally get where you're coming from. Well, I /can/ be mature--to be honest, I can go from responsible adult to kid in a candy store in 5 seconds flat XD Hmm, yeah. I'm partially genderfluid, or something. I haven't really figured it out yet... And yeah, 10 is great :) I'll only be able to stay for an hour or two, but that's all right. It's better than 7am XD )
I ask because I can have no contact with someone for a while, and then pick up where we left off like no time at all has passed, and it's not always taken well... aand I'm rambling, sorry :P
No, not at all ^^ (Actually, I don't particularly care what I'm called, but you are indeed correct :) ) Anywho, thanks! It's my first job--I have to earn some money to get to college!
X looked sharply to the sky. Nothing visible, but...there. Now that she knew what to look for, she could tell that this mind-pulse did indeed belong to a dragon. She nodded, following her companion. /My apartment's not too far from here. I can't guarantee its safety, though./
(I'm probably going to have to leave soon--will the same time tomorrow work? Hopefully, I'll be able to make it for 10 this time :P) X moved with a quiet swiftness that spoke of one accustomed to going unnoticed. They exited the trees' cover and were soon moving between buildings. /This way./
