Being the daughter of Qui, who served under Acen's parents, she grew up with Acen and became a close friend to him. Promising to be his retainer when it was time.
However, a few days before the tragedy of Acen's parents' disappearance, Qui left on his own and left Citlali, their family, and Acen's family unprotected. Overrun with rage against Qui, she searched for him to ''teach him a lesson'' promising acen to come back as his retainer when the deed was done.

And she did. Like. Years later :'D

Anyway, Citlali is a mischievous laguz who seems to joke around almost all the time. She sometimes lies without knowing but is amused by the outcome. And she loves puns. Her loyalty stays to Xalys and Acen no matter the circumstances.
