sadly no there wouldnt. people would still find a way to smuggle them. guns help with many things, and can be used to defend yourself. also there are a lot more weapons. cant ban knives cuz they are useful in cooking and stuff. nomatter what we do theyll still be stupid stuff happening. also posting something here wont do anything

Then people would steal the guns from the gun stores. But they wouldn't raise the prices that high in the first place otherwise they'd go out of business since people would just go to black markets or gun dealers(like drug dealers, but they sell guns). Also what about the people who already have guns? Is the government supposed to search everyone's houses to get rid of them?
