Karu sees the rtheif and chuckles to herself.
She doesn't pursue her.
(She's usually really laid back)

Some guys with guns come running by, seeming to be looking for someone. they seem angry

That alerts Karu.
She gathers her purchases in het reed basket and eyes them with narrowed green eyes

They pay no attention to her and one blurts out a "Where'd that F'cking monster go?" as they look into alley ways.
*something red on a roof draws Karu's attention. it's Rei*

She sees Rei but doesn't immediately think they mean her.
( I assume they're human. She a legya. A varient of gorgon.)

"Monster? What monster?" She hisses wrapping her tail near to her

One guy glances over at her "a little runt of a kid with red hair a ghostly tail"

Karu shrugs her shoulders.
"Haven't seen them." She says sassily as her tail flicks at the end

The man lets out a "hmph" and turns back to his buddies "lets look down this way". Soon they are jogging down the pathway again.

Rei instpects Karu a bit from up on the roof.

Karu lets the men jog away before looking up to her giving her a thumbs up

Rei: .... *jumps down off of the building with skill and lands, then walks over to Karu* why'd you help me, lady?

"Maybe I didn't do it for you. Maybe I just didn't like them." She says. "It's not good to assume." She boops her nose

Rei: *wiggles her nose, aggrivated* well, whatever. bye. *starts walking away*

"You're welcome. As a token of graditude you can tell me why they are looking for you." She presses slithering up to her side

"I have a ghost tail... They don't like that..." She says before taking a bite of the bread loaf she stole.

"That's it? They don't like you? I feel that's not the whole story." She says reaching in her bag and dangling a bit of meat in front of her nose, just out of reach

Rei: Lady... I'm not some dog you can make say or do anything just by offering them treats... Why do you even want to know? *she spitefully looks at Karu*

Karu puts her food away lifting her brow at her.
"No. Prolly not." She turns

Rei: *angry sigh*

Rei:.... *notices Karu turn* .... Wait... I'm sorry for being so.... Grumpy.... Just... I don't like to trust many people...

Rei: .... *she glances away* I'll tell you the real reason why they're after me if you give me the meat...

Karu smiles mischeviously.
"O? I thought you couldn't be swayed by food?" She taunts

Rei: .... I chose to offer to give you information in exchange for it...

She giggles but gives her the meat.
"Ok. Spill it."

Rei: ... My dad has framed me for murder... To be honest, I did stab him in the leg... But he stabbed mom in the heart and came towards me with the knife... But anyways, that's why people are after me...

"O you poor baby!"
She scoops her into a snake hug.
(Karu lovesto protect younger people)

Rei: ! H-hey! P-put me down! *obviously not used to anyone hugging or lifting her up, or at least she doesn't have good memories of hugs*

She sets her down only after seconds of rocking hug has passed.
"You poor thing. Come, come with me." She pulls her along

Rei: l-let me go! *digging her heels into the ground*

Karu just lifts her up

Rei: *kicks her feet slightly to try and get free but eventually gives up* ... Where are you taking me?...

"Somewhere safe. Don't worry!" She says.

Karu sets her down at the edge of the village to follow her into the mountains

Rei: .... *turns around and starts walking back to the city*

Karu puckers her lips and wraps her with the end of her tail and pulls her along

She tugs her along to a cave in the mountains that leads into a cottage built inside the protected walls.
"There, my home." She releases her

Rei: great... now can i go? ...

Karu sighs.
"Yes. But if you need help you know where to find me."

Rei: ... i know someone who needs more help than me... you should help her instead... *she looks Karu's face over slightly then sighs, turning to leave*

Karu just watches her.

Rei: ... i could lead you to her if you want.

Karu shakes her head.
"I don't seek out trouble." She says

Rei: .... would you rather i bring trouble to your home?

"Is rhat a threat?" She asks coldly

Rei: no. i mean... you called my friend trouble... i meant... *sigh* nevermind...

Karu waits

Rei: .... would you be alright with me bringing my friend here?... she cant even get food by herself...

Karu crosses her arms.
"You're so strange. One second refusing my help than the next asking for it. Is your friend like that as well?" She asks tenitively

Rei: yeah... she kinda is...

Karu sighs tapping her fingernail to her teeth.
"Ok. I'll help. But only if she promises to behave."

Rei: .... okay... *starts walking out then stops, looking back* Thanks... *slight weak smile* *starts walking out*

Karu lets her go and preps the home for company.
She starts a fire and food

Rei: *comes back after around a hour and a half, holding the hand of another little girl, leading her*

*the little girl has creamy brown hair and little floppy puppy dog ears in her hair. her eyes are pink and she seems to have more bruises than Rei*

Karu sees them approach and snakes out to see them better

Girl: !! *hides behind Rei*

Rei: it's okay. she just wants to help...
Girl: *whispers* "but she's so huge..."
Rei: it will be okay... i promise *kind smile that she never showed Karu*

Karu leans low.
"Hello girls." She says gently

Rei: *looks at Karu* hi.

Girl: .... *looks down and away*

Karu comes over.
"I've got food going. Are you hungry?"

Girl: *looks at Karu* *she hesitantly nods, still timid and scared*

"Come on in." She guides them in.
A sweet scent of bread and stew perfuming the air

Rei: *leading the girl by the hand*
Girl: *hesitantly enters in with Rei*

Karu makes them up bowls to eat. She hums gently

Rei: ... *was hoping that the girl would just be alright staying there, where it's safe. at least safer than the city*

"That's fine." Karu says sitting. "We're out of the way so no guards should come this way."

Rei: ....
Girl: *slowly starting to not be as scared*

Karu looks to them.
"How long will you be here girls?" She asks sweetly

Rei: I probably won't stay the night *she shrugs* I have to take care of something in the city.
