It is one of the most, if not the most overrated pokemon. :O I still like it tho. It isn't necessarily a bad thing. Probably any critically acclaimed thing that isn't a cult classic is overrated. Overrated is just that people can't seem to stop talking about it or that only a small minority dislikes it. I like mega Y more than mega X. Mega X is also overrated. Idk about Y. Mewtwo is another overrated first gen pokemon. Idk what other pokemon are overrated for sure tho. Lucario is a common pokesona on colors but idk about other sites.

Pikachu is commercially overrated [almost every type of poke-product has a pikachu version] but that is inevitable because it is the mascot.

Also those shows/games/etc that it becomes "cool" to hate usually become that way through becoming overrated [could this be why some are turned off by reboots and sequels?]. Examples: twilight series, superwholock on tumblr, hetalia, any new entry in anything over ten years old, homestuck, five nights at freddy's, skylanders, frozen, astrology on tumblr

To monkfishlover: Yes! I didn't mean to add hate on Charizard. I do like this Pokemon and it sure has some epic Mega-Evos. Some say its overrated, some say it's not. It all depends on who you're asking... ; )
