Re: Thanks! I think the blurry effect comes from how I typically incorporate 3d with characters that are in more than one layer. I finish the characters first, copy them to multiple layers, and then doctor each layer as is necessary. I partially erase some sections so that the overlap from the preceding layers create the illusion of "mid" layers. I think the blur comes from these overlaps. Kinda actually does a neat job of suggesting motion.
