Terradream sets down Cielo's Book of Creatures and Monsters, but beside it, he places an even larger book--full of notes and information he himself has gathered. "Alright, now that I've got all my notes together, I can finally tell you guys all about my favorite subject to study-the Venatavis species. It'll be long, but please bear with me, I'll write everything down in the comments below..."

The Venatavis, an unusual species of dragon known for their brightly colored feathers. They are most oftentimes found in thick jungles and rainforests, although the Golden variant lives predominantly in deserts. The Venatavis are generally docile to other creatures not considered prey, and have been known to happily mingle and converse with other creatures. If ever you walk through a rainforest and hear a peculiar bird call, it could very well be a Venatavis, as they have their own language known as Birdsong. ,

These hybrid dragons also have the unique ability to alter their feathers' colors, although it is limited to their emotions, crimson when enraged, bright pink when happy or excited, and grey when sad or ill. It is possible for a Venatavis to permanently change the color of its feathers by continually feeling the same emotion for an extended period of time... although it is absurdly difficult to do so. ,

Should they ever have need to defend themselves, they have at their disposal poisonous wing talons and fire breath. The poison is selective, in that it is only released while the Venatavis feels threatened, and they do not breathe streams of fire, only fireballs. Adding onto this is their sharp eyesight, allowing to make out fine detail miles away. Some instances have been reported of a rare genetic defect causing a Venatavis' fire breathing capabilities and venomous talons to be severely limited or even completely dysfunctional. ,

There are two known variations of the common Venatavis, the Golden and Albino variations. Golden Venatavis are a desert-dwelling variation and have stronger poison and weaker fire compared to the common, while little is known about Albinos due to their rarity. Common female Venatavis are dark green, blue, and occasionally brown in color, while males are bright green and blue, with vibrant orange, red, and yellow patterns. Golden Venatavis, both genders, are a sunny yellow color with orange-red patterns. Albinos are pure white, like fresh fallen snow. ,

All Venatavis dread the cold, no matter which variation it is. A Common's favorite food is usually fish, while Golden prefer large scorpions or other arachnids.
(I'm pretty sure that's everything... I think XP )

That is so awesome!! You make the Venatavis sound so real, and I love that it was all narrated by Terra! And the Albino sounds so mysterious - I can't wait to see one! *w*

Could you look at my previous comment on the noodle?

@Day I did, and I replied to it there as well. I can't comment on your paintings because none of them were made on a 3DS system.

Oh yes, two things I forgot, Venatavis love collecting shiny objects (especially so for females), and they can live for hundreds of years.

Ah they are soooo cool!!!! I don't know wether or not Mina should have the defect, as so far she hasn't shown that she can breathe fire.
I really like how you did this! Makes me want to make a species of my own hehe
