Patacati have many limbs as their light bones - that allow them to fly - break easily. The broken limb can heal itself over time, or immediately by the royal family - identified by their from-birth crystals on their forehead - as they are the only patacati who can harness the power of crystals (dragons being the only other being who can). To avoid the situation of a broken bone, they are very agile and flexible and can see in the dark. (con in comments)

To conserve energy, they sleep 40 of the 60 hours in a day. ((Note: Day hours may change.)) They live on floating, ice-like substances that have the appearance of clouds. This substance, called glapice, breaks easily under pressure, so only patacati can stand on it as they are very light. Glapice is formed and kept by the royal family via their magical abilities and will melt away if not one member of the royal family is present on the land. Living at high altitudes, they can live off of less oxygen than most beings. Because of their thick coats and easily melted glapice land, patacati - or moreover their lands - migrate to colder areas. Their water-resistant coats give them an advantage over their heated enemies, the parodin. They also share a strong alliance with the dragons, which is lucky for them as they are the only flying fire-breathers.
