Strange biology by The_Adjudicator

On rare occasions (usually occuring most in the field of entomology) You may encounter something known as a Gynandromorph.
This is a complex scenario in which the X and Y chromosome count of a fertilized egg doesn't divide properly with the first few cells, causing bilateral asymmetry. Put simply, the creature is half male and half female. However, some gender specific organs seem to polarize towards a single gender. Still, it probably results in an awkward romance.

Oh most definitely awkward, this is beautiful! How did you do this with only the eraser? xD

I've heard of se.x chromosomes making some funky organismic differences. A mosaic chromosome pattern such as this, but with randomized male/female cell arrangement. Or those with both organ sets. Or those males who didn't develop and appear female physically

Next time I see an asymmetrical butterfly I'll probably have forgotten this little painting. It's very interesting and educational though
