If you omit the neck and make the body scale smaller (and hands and feet slightly bigger), then you'd have a style a bit closer to traditional Sonic-y. Although I personally draw Sonic characters with slightly smaller hands and feet than in the official art work.
Not to say this style isn't good, though! It reminds me a lot of Pierce's style. Boy do I miss her. :(
