I mean, Requiem may make bad life choices, but I'm like 86% sure that they make life of the people around him 14x more entertaining lol

Requiem is probably one of the OCs I've worked the hardest on. I love them,,
Requiem was born under the name Arluin, the seventh child out of nine total born to a poor, single mother from an unspecified place in Valm. We'll call Requiem's siblings One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Eight, and Nine for convenience's sake.
In order to keep this rather short, and to not reveal ~too much~...

Requiem's mother died when they were eleven due to her workaholic nature and tendency to neglect her own health in favor of her children.
One married out of the family shortly before her mother died.
Two ran away sometime before One married in order to find a better life for herself.
Three was left to take care of his younger siblings all alone once his older siblings bailed and mother died, and he ended up getting involved in ~things~ and was eliminated when Requiem was seventeen... Three was Requiem's favorite sibling.
Four died of sickness when Requiem was nine.
Five moved to Ylisse when the chance arose, and eventually became a soldier for the Ylissean army.
Six was adopted by a wealthy family.
Eight and Nine are twins, and Requiem supports them through his soldier status.
After Three's prompt elimination, Requiem wandered with Eight and Nine for a long, long time until he happened upon a kind, frail young duke by the name of Nocturne, who took them in without hesitation. Though it was unintentional, Requiem developed a strong bond with the young lord.
Before long, he had entered Nocturne's service as his personal guard dog, and his shadow.
He cast off his given name and took on the name 'Requiem', in reference to the Mass given for the repose of the souls of the dead. (Referencing the brutal nature he developed in order to ensure the safety of Eight and Nine after Three's death, and also to fit in with the theme of Nocturne's court. All of the retainers that Nocturne has took in have cast away their names and taken on music related terms.)

As Walhart's campaign to unify Valm continued, Nocturne reluctantly offered Requiem, as his undoubtedly most talented soldier, to the Conqueror in exchange for his dukedom's peaceful integration into the Valmese Empire.

Requiem isn't interested in Walhart's purpose in the slightest. As long as he's allowed to do his thing and get his paycheck, he'll follow orders to a T so long as Nocturne wills it.

Requiem openly states that he has two main purposes in life:

First and foremost, he dutifully serves Nocturne in all things. If it is Nocturne's wish, it is Requiem's command.
Protect Eight and Nine at all costs. Requiem is incredibly bitter about the state of all of his older siblings, and he refuses to allow Eight and Nine to feel as alone in the world as he had after Three's death.
Despite the above statements, Requiem is incredibly reckless in battle. He LIVES for the thrill of the fight, and he has the scars to prove it despite his young age. He has complete confidence in his slaughtering ability, but he supposes that it doesn't hurt to have a healer for a best friend...

If Requiem is married, he'll have a snooty dark mage son named Cantabile.
Requiem has a serious case of gallows humor. It's ridiculous.
The concern of other people regarding him admittedly makes him nervous and he feels the need to assert that he's totally a-okay before fleeing.
Though he's quite friendly, he doesn't have very many friends due to his dark nature lmao.
Physical contact of the non-violent nature also makes him quite nervous.
He actually really likes to show off his ridiculous amount of scars. That's why a lot of his casual wear consists of tank tops or mesh shirts.
