Okay, I'd have to go back and rewatch The End p 1&2 again, but I feel like somewhere, deep down, Tord actually cares for Edd.
We already know that Tord and Tom hate each other, and Matt and Tord are alright with each other (besides Tord clocking Matt in the face), but if I recall correctly, Tord never directly hurt Edd in those episodes. I even think (I could be misremembering this, though) that as Tord was flying off in his robot, he said goodbye to Edd specifically.

At the end, when Tord's sitting on the hill, I'm sure he's thinking about how bad he lost and all that, but I also think he's thinking about how bad he messed up. It's just hitting him how far he's come from friendship, and that he's destroyed everything for Edd. Granted, Edd's okay in the end, but Tord doesn't know that. Edd welcomed Tord back and was the kindest to him, and I think deep down, even if Tord doesn't realize it, he's upset his friendship with Edd didn't last.

I know he said he doesn't need friends with his giant robot, but he doesn't have that robot anymore. Tom took it away from him, and Tom stole Edd's friendship away, too. I think that hurts Tord, I really do. It's evident Tom and Tord wanted to be the favorite (Take "Ruined" for example), and in the end, Tord's destroyed almost everything, and Tom finished the job.

..... So basically, I like this picture a lot, great job!

Thanks, and I agree, Tom and Tord were always fighting for Edd and Tord really cared for Edd. Btw the reason Tord came back was a symbolic meaning for Edd's cancer returning. Its a really dark meaning for Eddsworld...
