I see what you mean. I think it's good that this community is like this though, it makes it easy to start drawing. If I got those kinds of comments when I first started I probably would have given up right away, and I wouldn't be at the point I'm at today. (Not trying to say my art is perfect, by the way, I realize that I still have a lot more learning to do) I feel like this is more of a place to start, and if people want more critique they should try other sites. Which is why I'm doing this now, but it's still a lot to get used to.
Anyways, you're right about the shading. That is what most people have been telling me. I'll do my best to improve.
