Introductions by bare-nok

A reintroduction of sorts to my main character & her WEARESONOTINLOVE best friend, as it's been so long since I've drawn either on my DS!
Casey is a short, albeit hot headed, girl who was raised in Albydos, a rural farming town close to the Great Divide [modern day Grand Canyon] that divided the floating Riser cities of the western coast from the vile Mirage people of the desert. Although unknown to the Riser people, Casey's adoptive father, Gregary, is the leader of the spiritual, underground dwelling Mirage folk, who have disguised themselves to be accepted as Risers, during this time of war.
Cris, on the other hand, is a chubby, optimistic weapons expert that was dumped out in the desert with a squadron of Riser soldiers, called the Authorities, to set up a base in Albydos to protect the poor cowpoke from the villainous Mirage people.
In a odd twist, the two became friends, & began spending their time together when not busy with their respective Riser & Mirage duties.
Here, though, Casey got to introduce Cris to her puppy - who just happens to be a huge, horned sheparding hound, a breed famous for handling both the scalding temperatures & vile monsters of the desert. Comet, though described as a "good boy" by Case, takes a not-so-playful snap at Cris when he tries to pet the dog, suddenly realizing this hound is nothing like the domesticated Riser dogs he was familiar with until this point in time!

Since a few people asked, I'll probably talk about Alkian culture in a seperate post, so look out for that!
THE CONCERT OKAY. I saw Young the Giant, it's an indie band I love a bunch!! It was free on the open air in Nashville, so it was super packed. We sat kinda far from the stage, but there were screens, so it was okay. There were some... eh, interesting people there... it was actually kinda unnerving and I felt panicked at a few points (people being creepy to me and one of my friends), but it turned out okay, so that's good. I got a shirt!!!! I love getting shirts!!! It's red and say "Young the Giant" in red lettering. It's simple, but it was the only shirt design they had. xD

It's pretty funny, because if you knew me IRL, and heard my speech patterns and accent, you'd realize the way I talk and the way I type are VEEEERY different. xD
I can structure sentences rather well when given time to think, but speaking is weird and I have a tendency to speak sentences backwards. Actually, I type them backwards, too... ANYWAYS! It's just funny.

YA KNOW, when you drink your dad's expired half & half by accident, the chances of you being up all night increase a ton! And I'm lactose-intolerant, so it was a double gut punch! Plus, you knocked out all my replying progress! Which I have just returned the favor, haha!
