I'm more in my comfort zone when I just draw scenery.
An off-screen photo reference was used for study purposes.

Re: Thank you! To be honest circles never worked for me, at least not for animal heads. For humans, they are great! But even for humans it does not have to be circles that you start drawing with. you can use all kinds of shapes, like ovals, tridents ... here are some examples: http://windswirl.deviantart.com/art/Characters-566145619
Also man, that's stunning work! I especially like the reflections on the water of both the sky and the trees.

Ooooo... This is so calming... I love the detailed silhouettes! I can almost feel the breeze, smell the grass, and hear the night sounds just from looking at this!
