I've known someone that's done it 3-5 times.
if it happens a second time around, maybe u h m say something like "I'm taking a break" or "I'm thinking of leaving but i'm not sure" instead of making a whole scene about leaving. the 3rd or 4th time around people will have gotten used to it and probably wont think much of it.
it's just really annoying
