As a cub Cyata was abandon by her mother, Soltles saw her as he just went for his daily walk (when he still had 2 legs). As smart Soltles was, he picked up the cub out of the snow and took her home. Lucky for him, she didn't bite his face off and went along. So, he took care of the cub and as she was full grown. He let her free in the wild, since he lost his leg around that time and couldn't take longer care of her. She did leave, but she always turned for a cuddle and such. She helps Soltles often with walking long distances now or fight off the people (who she think) attacks Soltles.
