Owlpaw is a Tigerclan apprentice, mentored by Featherstep. She grows a closer relationship to Icepaw, as they became friends when Tigerclan was driven out of their home and taken in by Leopardclan. Her clan finds out the relationship and uses her to get information from Icepaw. When she's done using Icepaw, the patrol of cats attacks him, but Halfclaw and Frosttail fends them off. Icepaw is later judged by the rest of his clan, for what he did. Owlflight later has his kits, but doesn't want her clan to know about it. She tells Rainpaw who becomes a warrior, about her kitting seeing that he's the only one who Icepaw mentioned the news of his relationship to.
Rainpaw alerts Icepaw who also becomes a warrior, that his kits are on the outskirts of the border waiting to be brought in. Icepaw goes to the place where Owlflight left his kits, only to see an Owl swooping down and taking them one by one. (There are 3 kits) Icepaw only manages to save one of his kits, but as the kit grows up, it is found that the kit is deaf.

The death of his kits from being taken by an owl and the deafness of his kit were punishments by Starclan to both Owlflight and Icepaw. Owlflight becomes devastated at the news of her kit's death and that one of them is deaf. She neglects the deaf kit when it is brought back to her camp, and the deaf kit is then taken by an owl when chasing a butterfly during the night.
