Kent was adopted by his parents when he was baby, only a couple of monthes old. His father was Nicolous Moore and his mother Grace Moore.
The two of them were in their late twenties, but had been married since they were twenty. Both had wanted children, lots of children!, but Grace had always been sickly. The one time she'd concieved she'd lost the child and nearly died herself, prompting her tubes being tied to prevent anlther tragic pregnancy.
Sad lonely years passed. The two living together until finally they decided to adopt.
As they came in for an interview they were allowed to see some of the children, both were smitten by a cat earred boy. (Both having a deep love of felines)
There was no contest. When they were approved they adopted the ginger neko naming him Kent Moore. Their only son.

Kent grew up and realized shorty that with his ears and tail he was different from his parents. Nic and Grace never hid it. They were heart broken as he made the connection but told him he was adopted, but that wasn't bad! Most parents don't get to pick their children, but he was hand selected. Their perfect choice.
Kent never felt odd about being adopted, or even being a different race. He believed his parents about being their son, blood or no blood.
Nic was a fan boy for He-Man cartoons and comics, sharing it with Kent who took to it. Grace loving musicals and sweets and Kent too took on after his mother. He grew up loved and loving. People liked being around him for his energy and excitement. His family was perfect.
At thirteen Kent began to realize something about himself though. He was attracted to males. He was unsure how his family wou.d react. Would they get mad? Would they regret picking him? He wanted to be perfect like they were for him, so he kept it secret.

Something... he'd regret for the rest of his life. A couple of monthes after his thirteenth birthday his dad Nickolous got into a car accident driving home from work. He died on his way to the hospital.
The incident shook the little family to the core. Grace had to begin working again, and Kent found hi self alone more and more as he watched his mother's health decintagrate.
Kent also felt weighed down that he'd never told his dad about his sexuality. He'd never truely know how he'd felt or if he'd come to accept that part of him. He felt dirty for it. Didn't e trust his dad? His mom?
At four-teen Kent came out to Grace. She was shocked to say the least telling Kent to think more on it. To be sure. He didn't argue with her but a week later she scooped him up saying 'You always were so affectionette. I'm sorry Kent. You be you no matter what. Don't let society tell you what to be.' Kent hugged her back and took her words to heart.

Kent began to do what he wanted, regardless of others. This is when he started to become overweight but started dating boys. He got a bad name in high school for being 'easy' but Kent just loves so deeply he often made relationships serious right away. By seven-teen he was the fat, gay, easy boy at school. Despite the reputation Kent had a lot friends because of his personality.
But more sorrow was on the way...
At work Grace callopsed and Kent was sent home to see her at the hospital. Years of labor and a weak body and weaker immune system taking a serious toll. Grace could no longer work, or afford her insurance.
Kent began working.
Kent took the next two years of high school with a full time job taking care of his mother's expenses as well as his own. He moved their stuff from the small condo to a much smaller aparment with the help of some high school friends.
His cheery mood crushed from constant stress and the worry of his mother as her condition deteriated.

Kent managed to graduate and started a job at a telemarketer branch where he works nearly six days a week. His mother Grace is still in the hospital under constant monitering. He visits often.
The stress has helped his weight to ballon along with the low exercise job of sitting in the phone, and he lives in the tiny apartment crammed with all his families belongings and memories, constant reminders of what was...
Despite it his mother Grace says "Love, you were always the best at that. Better than anyone else. Love in spite of it all, smile, laugh, be you. No matter what. Don't become a miserable man."
So he does. Kent's even managed to find a boyfriend named Rider who helps him de-stress.
To this day he lives like this. Taking care of his mother and lover in an apartment piling up with bills and old memories...
