Some common traits are:
*Have a tragic backstory.
*The person who dislikes them is considered "evil"
*They're loved by almost everyone.
*They are usually shipped as cannon (Original character from show, game, etc. x original character (O.C) *which in your case is your oc and Steve*
Those are some common traits.

Also, I'm pretty sure having a pet wolf isn't a good idea, considering they belong in the wild, so they can be free.
