Mint is the Minister of Science.
She was given a project to work on involving quantum computers.
The only quantum computer in existence is on the S.S. Blue Orb.
When the project was canceled, she took to the skies to continue her work.
She and her 5 crewmates are still in orbit. No demands have been made.
She is a... "good" guy, but she does "bad" things.
