in pure honesty, i have never really liked it here. i joined in 2012 and when the "big' colors update came out everything kinda fell apart. the (then)new follower system probably killed it. Before you had to ACTUALLY like a picture to #keepe them in your radar. Now you can follow em then forget. Its not that bad i guess, but the effort to try and actually keep liking thier art is dead. that now leads me to my real issue. why the heck do people not like art. you followed me for a reason. -com-
The Colors! Gallery moderators will look at it as soon as possible.

-cont- like seriously. i do understand that if you have 40 peeps followed it is hard to stay up to date. but the motovation should be relevant? Sorry off track. No my real issue is the fact that the community actually is quite toxic. How? simple. new artists never get a real chance half the time. i say real because of the fact that there are easy ways to get follows but its freaking awful, but i'll cover that later. you see you cant start out and actually get a chance because they get drowned out. drowned out by the already pop peeps. most people ignore new peeps and only notice pops. Example- I actually made then #greatcolorsrevival. but who was most credited and completely changed the main focus? a pop of course. i mean im an extremely sure they didnt mean too, but instead of a change it was turned into a meme. Everyone tagged others, and honestly half the people tagged already had 500 follows, like ***. you arent even helping the little guys. I wasnt even tagged, and i dont care.

-cont- oooh and the other issue i have, frikin follow4follow. whyyy, first off, you automatically become a ghost follow, and you never actually like some of the peoples art. you just care if they follow you back. and sometimes people who use this dont even have skill. of course thats not all the time honestly, some are good artists. but it sucks that the only reason they got popular was because theh had to follow five thousand peeps.
moral of the story-
Stop being close minded and try some change.
Follow for follow is cancer

I honestly know what you mean bc miiverse (another ds/wiiu social media that you might of heard of) was the s.hit back in twenty-twelve to twenty-thirteen. like, it was pretty active, and it was super enjoyable. but they started adding really awful updates pretty slowly, not to mention the admin system sucked (someone could report any of your post and there was a 60 percent chance that it would get taken down, even if it didnt violate any rules). then about a year ago it was hit with a huge redesign, which made a ton of people leave bc it was a hassle to use, yknow? it was already dying out before then, though,, its really sad bc there were a lot of cool people on there and the 'community' vibe was great and it was really sad to see it all-

I agree with you with these "follow for a follow". I don't like this way of thinking. What's the point? You will ignore other's stuff and people will do the same for you.
I'm also sad about ghost followers too. I always like other people's stuff. Sometimes when I don't have internet for days or weeks, when I come back, I check my dash and I like every pics. It took me a lot of time sometimes, but I still do it for every single pictures. I do not comment a lot tho... and I know it's bad since comments are the most precious thing imo.

for the great colors revival, I wouldn't say it became a meme... It was just shoutouts. But the problem is that... Shoutouts are cool, but who really check them? I mean.... When this started, I checked every people, but then.... I stopped you know...

also with all these new categories and update, I'm sure none of us check the new paintings now. Before the update, I used to watch the new paintings everytime, but now... I don't check it often, sadly... I guess I should more.

I completely agree with you I feel this site has gone down the drain. Comments if i get them are usually positive but i usually dont get any. Of course that may be because I am just a small artist. Its also impossible for small people like me to get found without going to a bunch of pictures and commenting little things like 'cool' or 'nice' because no one clicks on a picture unless its manga or something like that. For example I was looking at trending and EVERY SINGLE FLIPPING picture was a person doing the same cookie cutter pose with the same hair and it really bothered me. The only way i've to get a single shred of exposure is doing the weekly challenge, which i'll probably always lose to a manga or something. Of course with all things there is some really good manga artists which even I am following. I also think that follow backs are really annoying one time someone commented on one of my paintings 'Cool I do landscapes. I followed you will you follow me back?' and that is awful
