Quill's parents encouraged him to help others in need. However, they didn't mean for him to interpret it as "start training to be in an exploration team." Quill ran into trouble on his first excursion, but was rescued by a Breloom and his team. The reaction of Quill's parents when he was returned home may have been a tad exaggerated here.

Drew's grandfather was part of a rescue team, and he always wanted to pass on what he knew. As the innate love for adventuring skipped a generation, he ended up teaching his grandson, which often meant taking Drew out on expeditions to show him how each item worked and how they could be used. Drew wants to be as helpful to his team as his grandfather was in his time.
The current remaining questions will be answered in the next set of responses. Hope you have enjoyed so far!

Re: Tamaro's series? It's coming along, all right. Misoku is really the main one I spend time thinking about/working on, Tamaro, along with Roland and Shugo, I usually just have ideas here and there and write them down. Misoku is thr most important to work on, because that's the one I'm (planning on) doing first. Of course, Shugo or #5 could be first.
