The Rainbow Rant. by VileKitten

I am a gay male and I just need to vent about how the the LGBT Community is being poisoned and misrepresented by emotional PC regressive leftists, and liberal/ conservative media. A community built on love and acceptance is now being tainted by an ideology of victimhood, and ignorance, which is destroying the progress the original LGBT movement did when it began.

Remember when equality was thing people fought for? You know the stuff that inspired Martin Luther kingjr, Ghandi, and the 1st & 2nd wave of feminism. Remember when people made peaceful rallies, had smart and educated speaches that had affected many people positively and made great strides for equality? Now imagine a college campus with two people crying and whining about how they're supposedly "opressed" and that all cis gendered males are priveleged and are the reason why society is so close minded and doesn't function well. Yeah, inspiring speeches of transgressing and moving passed obsticles are now replaced with a petty sob story about how your lack of merits are someone else's fault.

I despise it when people treat others unfairly for who they are, but what makes me livid is when someone purposely lies about and acts like a victim to get attention. There was a story about a woman who lied about a couple being homophobic to her and refusing to pay her, next day people gave her thousands of dollars cause she was "opressed", but in reality she lied and had slandered two innocent peoples names just so she can profit off of being a victim. Stuff like that is why we don't get taken seriously when we call something out as hateful towards us.

Next example is "safe space". I believe that we all have the right to free spech because without the ability to express ourselves than we'd all be under a facist dictatorship like the USSR. With "safe space" it protects LGBT members from things that "offend" them, but my problem with it is that anyone can be offended by anything and it kinda destroys peoples opportunity of exercising free speech because saying anything that "triggers" someone is something that should be purged from places like schools, college campuses, and the internet. You know, places where we're supposed to challenge ideas, learn, and grow as adults.

@Audy. Worts part is people get away with it.

Another thing that's bad happening in the community is the treatment towards bi people. Bi people get alot of hate from conservatives, but what's worse is that they're valued less in the LGBT community because "hey you have more romantic oppurtunities than me, YOU'RE PRIVELEGED" and that's messed up to have that coming from people who are supposed to accept you but treat you like you're scum because of an idiotic concept like privelege. Bi people have higher depression rates, how is that a privelege?

Now we move on to the letter T! Trans people are some of the most bravest people in the world, the commitment, the endeavors, and changes they go through to be who they really are is something to respect. But they get a bad rep from otherkins, fake trans people, and people who give themselves some made up gender just to feel special. I saw a trans man react to the people who claim to be trans and he was disgusted by them. He talks about how true trans people don't casually say they're trans and that liking clothes and stuff for the opposite gender doesn't mean you're trans. He wants trans people to be taken seriously but see's that it's impossible with people that want to feel special and act like a victim taking the spotlight.

Now we move on to the media! Remember when a couple refused to make a wedding cake for two grooms were all over the news and were called homophobes, than people blamed christianity? Well how come an orlando night club gets attacked by a man who was on FBI's list of potential threats, went to mosks that said it was okay to attack people for who thay are, and abused his wife doesn't get blamed for his actions or ideology and people blame guns? That is so hypocritical! They're too focused on protecting peoples emotions or not seeming islamaphobic that they blamed something else, letting the people who do this get away with it and betraying the LGBT community. How did the FBI not instantly arrest him, if he was a christian causian male than they would have gotten him instantly, BUT NO! People's preciouss feelings are this societies priorities instead of safety.

Now who are these voices that are trying to represent us? College kids who have never known true oppression that complain about it because instead of taking a stem course they took gender studies and now suffer because instead of learning medicine they were taught about LadyGaGa, wage gaps, and microagressions. Now they blame those who are succesful for the merits they lack and will jump on any band wagon that enforces equality.
Lesson here is to be open minded, don't be apart of a hive mind, and question everything with logic and reasoning.

Thus why society is messed up these days. I want to rise above this and actually be one of the few sensible people left. I want to be more than my individual traits like (lack) of sexuality, eye color, hair color, gender, etc. I don't want to be shallow like that. I want to be me as a person, not someone victimized for this or that
