- Chapter 3 -

It was the middle of the night when DarkSage was woken up by GrayShade nuzzling him gently. There was a scared look on his face as ye got closer and DarkSage wrapped a hoof around him. " Can't sleep..? " He asked tiredly. GrayShade sighed, keeping quiet so he wouldn't wake BlueBird who was asleep on the bed beside them. " Yes... Mostly about BlueBird... " He answered honestly. " What's going to happen DarkSage..? "
DarkSage held him tightly and thought for a long moment, no knowing what to say. " I don't know... But as long as I live, I won't let anything happen to you or BlueBird... "
GrayShade nuzzled him again, curling up beside him. " I love you... Try to get some more sleep... " He told him, before falling asleep himself.
DarkSage stared out the window at the ruined city and let out a nervous sigh before falling asleep.

" Alright everypony. We're on a mission today. " Alexla announced.

DarkSage, Wraithella, TeslaGlow and T.S stood by the door out of the appartment. T.S and Tesla both wearing saddlebags. " DarkSage offered to be the first to lead you into the city and go scavenging. Look for anything we can use. Food, water, medicine. You know the drill. The rest of you will stay safe here with me, but I'll need your help making this place secure. " She told everyone, and they had no arguements.
" Wish us luck. " T.S said, waving a hoof and trotted out the room. GrayShade kissed DarkSage who looked nervous. " We've seen what's out there... Be safe... " He said quietly and DarkSage nodded. " I will. You know I can handle things. Especially with Wraithella. " He said, and with that, they left the room and made their way out of the building.

Quite some time had passed and DarkSage leaned on where there should be a door into one of the many destroyed store fronts and continued to look down both large, empty streets. His ears twtiching at every sound as he made sure-

nothing was coming after them. Inside, T.S and TeslaGlow searched high and low for anything they could use while Wraithella kept watch inside the building.
" How'd you end up with this bunch? " T.S asked Tesla, who put something away in her bag. " Hm? Oh! Funny enough, we found DarkSage a month ago not long after we woke up to the wasteland. He had just woken up when we found him because he was drained. Wraithella thought he was one of those gouls but I stopped her. He told us he had a husband and son to find so we stuck together to help and-... The rest is history. " She answered with a smile.
T.S smiled under his scarf and chuckled. " Interesting bunch of ponies... Nice to see there's still something left of humanity... All I've seen around here are phycopaths. Anypony with a heart is killed and strung up on a building as as warning or butchered and eaten... " He said, sounding dark. TeslaGlow gave him a disgusted look. " You don't mean-... " She trailed off, and T.S nodded.

" Yes... Turning carnivore is one thing, but those canabilistic murderers are something to be afraid. If you see someone who's not with you, run... " He said, and TeslaGlow shook slightly, now terrified.

The following minutes were filled with silence until DarkSage poked his head through the door. " Anypony hear anything..? " He asked, staying quiet. Wraithella shook her head, shrugging. " No. Nothing so fa-... " She stopped, seeing DarkSage slowly make his way inside, an angered look on his face and he groweled at something.

Wraithella felt a warm breath go down the back of her neck and it sent a chill down her spine.
" Welcome to Manehatten... " A sinister voice said and Wraithella quickly ducked out of the way from whoever was behind her, standing next to DarkSage.

A mare slowly trotted into the open, a grin on her face. " Oh my. Aren't you two a long way from home. You certainly don't look like the Manehatten types. " She said, laughing and staring at them. " Who are you? " DarkSage asked, and Wraithella scuffed the ground with a hoof, looking ready to charge her.
" Me? I should be asking you that, darling. You're in my teritory... You see, I own this city... I decide who lives and who dies without the help of other ponies. But I suppose you can call me TrinitySpark. ... This wil be the last time you trespass in my city. " She said and her horn glowed, fireing a burst of magic at them.
The two jumped out of the way as it exploded into a small ball of fire and both Wraithella and DarkSage exchanged-

terrified looks. Wraithella groweled and charged her, taking a swing at her with a strong hoof but was met with a well placed strike to her chest that made her stumble back. She shook it off, more surprised than hurt, and laughed. " Ooh! You can put up a fight. But that didn't hurt too much. " Wraithella said, almost sounding excited, and TrinitySpark laughed. " That didn't, but this will though... " She said, and Wraithella jumped as several large, strange looking seals with magic symbols on them apeared her. She looked back at TrinitySpark, confused when nothing happened until she was suddenly bouncing from symbol to symbol at breakneck speeds, striking Wraithella too fast to keep up with, She was sent tumbling towards DarkSage with one last strike across the face and Sage called T.S over. The two stood ready to strike, and DarkSage charged her.

" Hm hmm... Let's dance, boys! " TrinitySpark laughed and dodged each of Sage's attacks. Her horn glowed and she suddenly seemed quicker, spinning around another one of DarkSage's attempts to strike her and bucked him from the side. Her horn glowed and a beam of magic made him cry in pain as it wrapped him in a thorn covered vine. T.S' eyes were wide. " What in Equestria are you..? " He mumbled to himself and called to TeslaGlow. " Tesla! You need to get out of here! " He called, and the mare galloped out the store front. A slight grin apeared on Trinity's face when T.S fired a bolt of magic at her. In one swift movement, she ducked under the attack and struck T.S in the chest, sending him into the air with her magic and threw him over the counter. " It's been lovely getting to play with you boys... And that mare. Hm hmm... If you'll excuse me, I have a plan to set in motion for all of you. " She said, galloping after TeslaGlow.

TeslaGlow galloped down the empty street as quickly as she could but was tackled to the ground by TrinitySpark. Tesla's horn glowed but her head was slammed into the pavement before she could defend herself and Tesla fell limp in TrinitySpark's hooves. " You're coming with me darling... " She said and looked behind her to see Wraithella stumbling towards her, bloody and bruised.
" TrinitySpark waved a hoof, saying something before she teleported both herself and TeslaGlow. " This will be the last time you see your friend... Ta! " She mocked and the two vanished.

Wraithella stared at the spot she once stood in silence. All she saw TeslaGlow limp, not even moving when the two vanished. Something inside her broke after seeing that and being told she'd never see her friend again.
DarkSage galloped up to her, covered in wounds from Trinity's thorn trick and T.S limped along, looking like he'd collapse.

The two had nothing to say when they saw Wraithella lay in the middle of the abandoned road covering her face with her hooves, sobbing...
