(DAMN IT!)

Malakai entered the city, he quickly lost sight of everyone he was with. There were so many people who towered over him and it was so crowded. He started to panic, //I hate cities! I hate cities!// he chanted as he ran past people.

Raven made his way through the bustling streets of Porthouse, careful to not show the spider legs that he had cramped into his cloak. He moved at a slow pace so as to not ruin is human appearance, but almost immediately, he had been separated from his friends. "Where the heck did they go?" he murmured under his breath as he glanced around.

Toren gave a loud sigh as he now found himself wandering the streets of Porthouse in search of Raven, who apperently was last seen with his sword. adjusting his clothes to make sure he was as inconspicuous as a tall horned individual can be.

Sirius wandered off to see the various shops, he already went shopping earlier but there's nothing wrong with spending some more. He briefly checked his vest pockets to see how much money he had left, he had other things in the pockets, along with his staff and extra clothing just in case.

Malakai continued running, fear blinding him, he tripped and stumbled as he went. "Where am I?" he cried out in his blind panic, he wasn't paying attention and ran straight into Toren.

Suddenly Toren felt a thud as something smaller ran into him. Toren didnt budge "Malakai?!"

Quickly giving up on his search for Malakai and Fiacail on the knowledge that they would likely return to the shore when finished shopping, Raven instead made his way towards the Town Center where the market would be held. //We came here to buy provisions, after all,// he reminded himself.

Malakai felt as if he ran into a softer brick wall, he grabbed Toren's shirt as he gathered his thoughts, "Uh..what?" he blinked rapidly and quickly backed away when he realized what he was doing. He brushed himself off, trying to seem casual. "Yeah Toren?" his voice shook a little as he spoke.

(What does a soft brick wall feel like?)

Sirius's stomach growled as he caught the scent of nearby food. He followed the scent and found a vendor selling pastries. He bought one and ate it on the spot suprising the vendor with how fast he ate; still Sirius was not satysfied and tried to find what else was avaible to buy and eat.

"uuuhhh,... What has you in a panic?" he laughed slightly as Malakai brushed himself off

(Hey @Kole! Poor Adara's still swamped in emotions... Q-Q)

"I'm not in a panic" he glanced around. "Last time I saw you, you went to the beach with Dorian, what're you doing here?"

(I have a question, what types of food are there? Considering how the setting is and all that.)

"ahhhhg" Torn frustratedly rubed the side of his head. "I got separated from Dorian when we re-entered the city. im looking for my sword now, its important to me" He replied to Malakai

(Welp I guess it's almost time to go for me to a place with no internet :) Just imagine Sirius buying like, idk, a very large ammount of burgers or something if they exist in this universe, lol)

(i mean, there are lots of beasts that people could hunt, vegitation, odd sea creatures, stuff like that im sure chefs could cook up)

//Every little thing seems important to you// Malakai bit his lip to stop himself from saying that out loud, "I'll stick with you for now, if that's alright, I know Raven has your sword." He rubbed his forehead "We got separated though, I think he might go to the Market"

Upon reaching the Town Center market, Raven approached a stall that had a large variety of fresh meats decorating its shelves and hanging in nets. Reaching into his saddlebag, Raven held out a thick, bone-white tusk for the vendor to inspect. "How much can this buy?" he asked. The vendor blinked at it for a moment, then took it from the centaur's hand and inspected it closely. He then looked up and said, "Where did you find this?" Raven shrugged. "Doesn't matter. It's all yours though." After eying it a moment longer, the vendor shoved the giant horn in his pocket and began to hurriedly gather hunks of various kinds of meat into a pouch. //So they do make good trading items,// Raven noted.

@KJ: I actually briefly considered having Raven trade Toren's sword away in spite of him. XD)

"Ahh...Great." Toren grunted, "i guess i have i have to go find him then. Markets that way i think" Toren pointed east through the bustling crouds of people.

(Fade: Toren: Burns down entire city lol)

"What are we waiting for?" Malakai glanced up at him, grinning "let's go" he tried to move but people blocked his path, he growled.

Toren smirked slighly at Malakais stuggles and looked down at him through the corner of his eye as he walked past him and people parted out of the way.

The vendor, after stuffing the leather pouch with meats until it was bulging, handed it over to Raven, and he accepted it with a nod. "Pleasure doin' business with you," the merchant said as Raven walked away. Peeking over his shoulder, the centaur witnessed the salesman retrieve the tusk from his pocket and oggle at it again. After tucking the meat pouch into one of his saddlebags, Raven continued shopping for provisions.

Malakai snorted as Toren walked past people with ease. "Guess it pays to look like some children's nightmare, wonder what they'd do if they saw your real form" he had a wry smile on his face as he followed behind Toren

(im ok with it i suppose, though toren is probably gona threaten both Raven and the poor shopkeep, which will probs cause dragon hunters to start trailing the group, which will end in the death of said hunters eventually.)

Torens ear flicked at malakais comment, but hebwas getting too much of a kick out of malakais short troubles to let it phase him, he just snorted and said 'Rather scare children than be mistaken for one' under his breath and continued to smirk, obviouly teasing malakai.

(also that sword is worth quite a bit, so youd better get a fair deal for it if you can lolol)

Malakai couldn't help but laugh at that, "I'll get you back on of these days for that" he puffed out his chest, pretending to be macho.

(Well, it would throw some conflict into this chapter if Raven did trade it off... although it might complicate things too much if they want to get the Artifact to the king but are being chased by hunters...
I wonder what item he would trade it for if he did though. :0)

"Hahaha" Toren laughed at Malakais gesture, his mood had lightened up a bit and a slight smile was on his face as the saw the market district in the distance getting closer.

(Children can't be macho, no matter how hard they try...)

Malakai couldn't see the market, he only saw people around him and Toren as they walked. He tried to see by getting on the tips of his toes. But to no avail. He crossed his arms in irritation.

Malakai peered past Toren's sides, "I don't see anything" he muttered bitterly

As Raven scanned the bustling Town Center, he caught the eyes of a merchant behind a shady-looking market stall. The stand had almost nothing on its shelves, but the vendor beckoned him over with a finger. Raven blinked and looked around, but there was nobody besides himself who had noticed the man. Hesitantly, he weaved his way through the crowds to the shady stall.

(AHHHHHH AHT SAVENYAAAA ABABEETZEBABA! *my lion king attempt, lol* thatll make for a good quick cartoony sketch lol)

Hehehe Toren held back a laugh, "follow me" he made his way through the crowds then paused. 'hmmm... me and raven arn't exactly on good terms' He said furrowing his brow. "Hey Raven" he caled out.

Malakai rolled his eyes "That's not how you do it" he inhaled deeply and yelled at the top of his lungs "HEY! FREAK OF NATURE I KNOW YOU'RE THERE!"

Hnngg, Toren clamed his hands over his ears until the ringing stoped. "sheeee, well at least your good for something in this search, not like you can help him spot him," he smiked again,

Malakai snorted "please he'll come running now, or shout something back, no way he can resist"

"You don't look like you're from around here," the man began once Raven had reached him.
"Do you make it a hobby to memorize every single face in this city?" he replied with his own question.
Ignoring the centaur's sarcasm, the vendor nodded at the cloak that hid the teen's centaur body. "What're you hiding beneath that? I'll give you a little something if you show me."
Raven let out a small growl of annoyance. "You sure are nosy. I won't unless you plan to show me this item you've offered."
"Secretive, are we?" The merchant let out an amused chuckle, a deceptive look in his dark eyes. "Would you be bothered if I told everybody in this market that you were smuggling something illegal beneath your cloak? How do you think they will react?"

"I hope so" Toren replyed. "that sword is a family heirloom. I can't afford to loose it"

Malakai tapped his arm impatiently, "He should have answered by now" Malakai squeezed around Toren and started sliding through people's legs or trying to shove past them.

Toren followed in behind malakai as the get closer to the markets centre

Raven grit his teeth in frustration. //What have I gotten myself into?// he groaned inwardly. Suddenly hearing the familiar voice of the shifter dwarf ringing above the clamor of the market, Raven pulled his cloak's hood over his head and stepped further into the shadows of the stall. "Tch. Whatever." The teen widened the opening of his cloak enough that the merchant could glimpse his arachnidian centaur body tucked beneath the cape, then quickly covered it up. "Satisfied? Now give what you promised."
The vendor's brows raised, and his eyes glittered with interest. "Interesting. Very interesting." He then stooped over and retrieved a golden chain necklace from his stall and displayed it in his hands. Although it looked like an ordinary accessory, Raven could sense a sinister aura enveloping it, and he narrowed his eyes suspiciously.

(ima have to go soon too! my 3ds is almost dead and i have a bit of work to finish tonight.

Malakai was getting annoyed having to push past people, he finally snapped and pointed at Toren "You see that guy there if you don't get out of my way, he'll eat you! Just look at his horns!" it took a few moments but after people glanced at Toren they quickly got out of the way

Toren glaced away as he hated being the centre of attention, attempting to hide his face under his hair, he quickly followed behind Malakai giving a sheepish smile to the crouds that parted,

Malakai lead the way through the crowds, flaring his nostrils he quickly picked up Raven's scent. It got them to the Market before he lost the scent.

The merchant beckoned the centaur nearer and dropped his voice to whisper. "See this here? It once belonged the mighty Hydra of the Median Sea. Whatever dream or desire you have in your head when you put it on will instantly be granted, but it will only work once. Sound intruiging?"
An image of Raven's deceased mother flashed before his eyes, and his heart rate sped up. //Whether he's lying or not, it's practically free. I already gave him my secret, so I might as well accept something in return.// "Yeah. I think I'll take it." He reached out for the necklace, but the man pulled it away from his reach at the last moment. "Ah, ah, ah," he teased, a smirk crawling up his obnoxious face. "I won't give such a precious item away for so little. You need to offer me a bit more than a peek at your secret."
//Why this little--!// Raven ground his teeth in frustration, but for some reason he couldn't command himself to turn around and leave. "What do you want then?"

( @KJ: Aww, really? I'm sorry, I've taken up way too much time! D':)

Malakai found Raven's scent again, it lead him to a shabby little run down tent. He walked inside and immediately bumped into Raven "oof"

Eyes glittering with greed, the merchant pointed at Raven's chest. "I want the blade."
Confusion evident on his face, the centaur looked down and parted his cloak. Only then did he remember Toren's sword, which was still slung over his shoulder. //He must have seen it when I opened my cloak that one time,// he realized. Raven hesitated, knowing that Toren would probably kill him if he gave it away. But an invisible force caused Raven's greed to overwhelm his mind, and he unfastened the blade's belt and handed it over to the man. With a giddy grin, he snatched the blade and dropped the necklace into the centaur's hand. "Pleasure doing business," the vendor said with a nod before hobbling away into the crowd and disappearing.

Malakai had witnessed what happened, he stood with his jaw hanging open. "R-Raven, did you just sell Toren's sword?" Malakai shuddered

//What just happened?// Raven asked himself after the shady man vanished, but his thoughts were interrupted when something short ran into him. Recognizing Malakai, the teen hurriedly shoved the necklace into a pocket and turned to face him.

(Ahh, sorry for all the lateness. I've totally screwed up everything today. T-T)

Raven considered lying to the shapeshifter, but knowing that he had been caught, decided against it. "Yeah?" he said. "What does that matter to you? It's just an insignificant blade."

Malakai pursed his lips tightly for a moment, "No it doesn't matter to me but-" he looked back through the curtains of the tent "-tell that to Toren, who moments ago told me it's a family heirloom"

Raven recieved Malakai's words with an unintrested expression, but his heart skipped a beat once he had processed his words. //If it was special to Toren, then he'll go into another rage once he finds out. Furthermore,// he thought as his eyes flickered over the crowd, //if what dwarf says is true, he's in this very market.// Automatically, he exited the tent and began moving in the opposite direction from which Malakai had emerged. "Too late now," Raven grumbled, returning to his disinterested facade. "He'll just have to get a new one."

Malakai's eyes widened and he followed Raven "You're crazy! He's going to kill you Raven!" he managed to keep an even pace with Raven.

Raven furrowed his eyebrows in a frown, and he started down a street that would eventually lead to the edges of Porthouse. "Not if I can outpace him." //I've already got a ton of provisions. If I can head in one direction, knock the dwarf out, then exit down a different route, he'll wake up and go back to Toren, then lead him in the wrong direction. That'll leave me plenty time to escape to another place.// Although he had just decided to stay with the Survivors, now that he had ruined any chances with making up with them, all Raven could do was run.

(Gahh, what has this come to?? I hadn't intended for Raven to run away! ToT)

Malakai rolled his eyes "As if, use your brain!" Malakai ran infront of Raven stopping in his path "He'd burn down all of Vale just to get you. You, me and the other survivors know how he can lose it"

Raven stopped and glared down at the shapeshifter. "Yeah, I know that. So what do you suggest I do, wise guy?" he humored Malakai. "I can't take back my actions, since we both know that finding that merchant in a city this vast would be a lost cause."

Malakai crossed his arms "pfft fine then, run off, it's your funeral" bitterly he turned and headed towards the beach

(I could totally see another fight coming on if Malakai tried to force Raven to apologize to Toren. 8])

Raven cursed under his breath. //This is gonna get serious. I didn't come all this way to Vale just to have it burned down. But it's too late to apologize - returning to that dragon would be forfeiting my life.// Raven rubbed his temples with his thumbs, trying to come up with a solution to his dilemma. //Maybe I can search for it? That sword's gone for good, but if I can tell the dwarf that I will get it back, maybe the dragon will leave me alone for a while?//

(If Adara's fire can burn herself, then who knows what it could do to Malakai. Stay on the alert, buddy.)

Choosing a random direction to walk, Raven worked out his situation in depth, starting from the very basics. //My goals are firstly to stay alive, and secondly to stop Toren from burning down all of Vale. I can knock out both of those if I can get his sword back, but I know that it's impossible. How else can I pacify him? I could pretend to search for it. But how can I convince Toren to not pursue me anyways?// Raven paused when an image of Malakai abruptly popped into his mind. //Hmm... maybe I can use him.//

(This is harder than it seems for me to flesh out... Raven needs to stay with the group, and Toren needs to not kill him... how can I knock out both of those without any fatalities in the process?)

(I had an idea earlier, but I forgot it. ToT It was gonna be good though.)

Finding that he had reached the end of the street, Raven turned and headed in another random direction. Despite the deepness of his concentration, he kept on the lookout for Toren. //I need to be able to outsmart that dragon, to get him to do what will work out in my favor... but I can't approach him, or it's game-over. How will I reach him?// Raven answered himself. //By manipulating Malakai. Despite all the fights we've gotten into, the dwarf respects me and probably wouldn't want to betray me right away. After finding him again, I'll have the dwarf pass on a message to the dragon that I've got a lead on the blade's wherabouts, but...// Raven grinned from his own cleverness, //I won't tell them what the clues are. That way, the dragon won't be able to kill me without losing all hopes of getting his family heirloom back. I'll be untouchable.//

Raven couldn't hold back a wry smile. //Now all I need to do is find a believable clue...//

(Aww, really?)

(I'm actually very proud of this plan. XD I'll have to think up a real or fake clue to the sword's wherabouts over the week.)

(And hey, maybe to get the plot moving again, they find out that the sword is headed in the direction of the capital, so that the group can get the sword back and present the Artifact before the king?)

( @Blood: Oh yeah, we still gotta do that! I think I've got an idea developing, but it'll take a bit to work out. Maybe we could have an Artifact Discussion thingy, if KJ wants that? Or we could just go with the flow.)

(But agh, this causes the plot to revolve too much around Raven - I don't mean to hog all the attention! I want the plot to center back around Toren, if not the whole group. I'll try to think up a way for it to do so over the week.)

Hey guys! Just back on with my phone befor ei hit the hay, I'll try and post an u0 date this week to chat incase you guys don't get this. But I'm totally happy to go with the flow, and naaawww your not hogging the attention with raven fade! It would be nice if each of us got a moment in the spotlight throughout the rp, :) we can just follow where the story leads, :) also super exciting! I can already see toren being a looming shadow of death hanging over raven. One wrong move and chomp! Can't wait till next week's rp! If most of you guys are on sometime tomorrow I'm free too!

(Alright. This is the best plan I could come up with.
So Raven chooses the golden necklace as his "clue" because, wherever it originates from, the merchant's hideout probably does too, which means they can wait for him there. He keeps this a secret and sends Malakai to Toren.
However, infuriated that he is being blackmailed, Toren still chases Raven and creates a big commotion, arousing the dragon hunters in the process. Raven is then caught and forced to reveal the necklace. When they inspect it, one survivor points out that an insignia engraved on it indicates it comes from the capital. Thus, with a sword to retrieve, dragon hunters to elude, and the Artifact to deliver, the survivors have every need to travel to the capital.)

(Another idea adding on to that is, sometime during the survivors' travels, the dragon hunters track down the merchant with Toren's sword, kill him, and take the sword. That would make things a lot more interesting to get it back.

Fade: that sounds pretty great to me! But we also need to discover more about the artifact as well, what it can do, how it takes hold of people, etc. Too, but we can slowly build that story more as we get closer to the capital. :)

( @KJumper: Oh yes, definitely! And those were just my random thoughts after all - nobody needs to follow along with them. x])

Re: they make for a good side plot though! Plus it's nice to have a bit more action as well!

Haha well if Malakar does inform toren I can keep him under control. I mean the last time he went crazy was because he was attacked by the widigo and all ready ticked off. I mean, he will probably be ticked, possibly hunt down raven, and unless raven can find the sword, he would kill him. But since raven is the only one who knows who has the sword, I don't think he'd risk it. Though he might clock raven good or leave a nasty black eye or scar.

Which is why Raven plans to keep his distance and send Malakai instead of himself to tell the news. XD
Blood: The only one who is awesome enough to "go up in flames" would typically be Adara. Cuz, y'know, she's a phoenix... I'm gonna go now. *flees*
