Vote Conclusion!! by Witzke

Well this has to be the quickest and cheapest painting I've made in my life err I mean the entire description will be written as an internet comment. Because I wrote it in a word document and I'm going to copy paste it over, so just click the internet comment and it will be the first one at the top. Sorry for the inconvinience ^ ^"

Hello guys. Well, it’s the moment of truth, the moment you guys were waiting for. I started this vote for two reasons, which I will get into in a bit, but first, let us unveil the winner. Steve Harvey, if you please…

OK, we asked over 6OO of Witzke’s Followers, If you had to pick ONE of Witzke’s two series to keep, which one would you choose? Survey says!

*DING*

The Legend of Mudkip: 8
Backstory: 12

Thank you Steve Harvey, I’ll take it from here (As you can see I like Family Feud) Please bear with me, this'll be a long one. I was, actually, surprised by the amount/kinds of votes I got from you guys. But let me explain a bit more my thoughts behind this. The first reason I did this, was because lately, I’ve been having a lot harder time finding the time to draw, as my drawings get more complex and I require more time to draw. Unlike most people, I have a limited amount of electronic time a day, two hours to be exact, and making a three hour long comic plus trying to post on a regular basis PLUS dealing with real life, it gets hard.

And the second reason is because, well, I didn’t know how many people cared honestly. I knew a lot of people liked The Legend of Mudkip, but, I didn’t really know if anyone cared much at all for Backstory. When I started Backstory with Peekatchu and Zoaruah’s, I got a fairly positive amount of feedback. But, when I started doing Snyvee’s Backstory, the first page got three comments…that’s it. And the second page, got three comments. Every page except three of Snyvee’s ten, got less than ten comments. And on the ones that DID get nine plus, if you actually go and look at them, they have much more replies than comments.

Someone: But Witzke, I don’t even get TWO comments on my comics, so why is this such a big deal for you?

Well, because I can get way more comments off of something silly like Truth or Dares that take me about thirty minutes to an hour to make, than I can on a comic that I’m putting a ton of effort into that takes from two to three plus hours. It, really kinda unmotivated me from even making comics. Now, to be fair, they do usually get a lot of likes, but anyone can just walk over and add a like, plus, there’s no way of knowing who a like is from. Yes, I really appreciate all of the likes, but I appreciate the comments more. It gives more depth, and I can actually know what you guys are thinking and that you really are liking the series, your opinions and how I am doing with it. I’m really sorry if I sound like I’m begging, I never want to sound beggy and I probably sound selfish and greedy (I even rewrote this part a couple of times to try and not sound beggy), but, it’s true how I feel about likes/comments. So, please, if you guys DO want Backstory, please show me that you do support it.

Someone else: So, what will become of The Legend of Mudkip?

Well, Mudkip did get a lot of support, and it was a close match, and I do really like it. I’m going to focus on making Backstories, IF you guys show that you care, but I will upload a few Mudkips when I feel motivated to do another page ; )

Well, that about does it. Thank you SO much for reading this to those of you who went to the end. I CANNOT express enough how thankfull I am to those who did read this. And hopefully this will be the last long description for awhile XD Well, I hope you will all enjoy what is to come. :’) God Bless you all. (BTW, please put #Read in your comment so I know you read this all.)

Dude, I feel the same about the whole likes & comments thing. My comic #AQuestForMemories isn't that popular & I think only 1 or 2 people actually read it. Probably explains how lazy I got with it & why the pages come out so slow. :/ I barely get feedback. I appreciate the little amount I get, but it'd be nice to have more.
This is actually kind of relieveing to know I'm not the only one who goes through that likes & comments stuff. :o
.
Anyways, I love your comics! :D Can't wait to see more! ^ET^

I understand. I try to comment but sometimes, I just don't know what to say. It seems like people prefer comics with a lil bit of humor in it. I know it's kind of sad to put out a meaningful series and have the pointless comic without any story, just humor, and that'll have more likes but some people also like meaningful ones. I'm not entirely sure what to say about this whole comic thing but from now on, I'll try to comment as much as possible. It's just that sometimes, idk what to say

I couldn't decide between the two, but I read them! Though, is making 3-hour long comics that give you stress to make, worth it? Would it be more fun (and easier) to make simple comics? Ones with cameos, random topics, general jokes and gags? I found I personally liked those more; the stuff you used to do in the beginning of your gallery. That's just me, though. I'm just voicing my opinion and question cuz you are asking for feedback.

Though the Valentines day series I found hilarious (especally with Torkole or however you renamed him from the pkmn) xD

Perissodactyla and artiodactyla are hooved animal groups. Perissodactyl I think is an odd number of toes and artiodactyl is even toed. Either or they're switched as in perissodactyl being even toed. Cetaceans are considered artiodactyls

That second reeason might be a common shortage anong the Colors community. It's getting fairly difficult to get by without any full-on support.
(I admit i was one of the people who couldn't comment on the Snyvee comics at the time. Thank you testing season.)

Still, i understand why it's such an ordeal. I grew from the same, if not exact, support from others and it's difficult to advance further when the flow isn't as steady.

Well, anyway, i'm looking forward to the comics!

Completely agree on the likes vs. comments statement. While I do appreciate likes, I like knowing who has looked at my posts and what they think about them.

On that note, I'd actually like to thank you. I really appreciate how consistent you are with leaving comments.

Anyway, I'm happy with your decision. I do enjoy the LoM series, but the Backstory comics have been intriguing, and I can't wait to see the rest of the backstories.

I do agree that comments are more important than likes in a way. Sure, it may be great to get a lot of stars, but it's better to say "Yes. I'll support this." than only adding a like. It shows that people are really into what a person makes and offer feedback to help an artist for future works! ; )

I guess the votes settle this! ; D

Re: Yeah, I personally think you should make fun comics, for fun. Do what eases your mind, not stresses you out for the crowd. Leave that to your real series if you must, but let your free fun fan comics be free, fun fan comics.

And you could take the personalities of your Poke cast and make new original characters for them. You have well written back stories, they should mostly still work with them being pokemon.

Actually the term -dactyl refers to the digits, toes and fingers. Polydactyl cats have extra toes. I've seen a cat like that, appeared to have thumbs. Perissodactyl and artiodactyl have to do with hooved toes

Im sorry drawing time has been so scarce for you, and Im truly sorry for not commenting all those times. I just always feel repetitive with my words and I feel awkward I guess when commenting on anyones posts. I understand you put in a lot of hard work for your comics and it really shows! I just have a hard time expressing that, but Ill try to make a better effort because you have been so nice and have been one of the very few supporters I have left on here. So, I cant wait to see more of your work and good luck!

Sorry for all the lack of comments and attention to the Snyvee comics. I usually try to comment when I can though. The lack of readers can really suck and I understand where you're comming from but now that we're in Summer, their should hopefully be alot more people here. Hopefully that helps.

Also, really sorry about #TLoM. It was a really good series don't get me wrong, but the backstories won because the possibilities of all the different backstories we could see. Plus, we wanna see more than just Mudkip. Although, I think it's still good to try to make TLoM if you can. They do help with your action storyboarding skills.

I know how you feel. Likes are nice, but I prefer comments. I'll try to give my feedback whenever I can. : )

Re: I you have a decent computer, I believe you can get Final Fantasy VII on Steam. Ace also said he started playing it on his phone, so that's also an option.

I see, and can relate to your thoughts on this. There were times in the past when I would post two or more paintings at the same time (a speed paint, and a work of effort usually) and in all cases, the speed paint would get more attention than the things I work hard on.

Honestly, I haven't spent much time here lately anyway. I've found other things I can do now.

its very true what you said about comments vs likes. whenever I upload something that takes a few minutes-hour it gets more likes or comments than something i did for hours
considering i have 50 followers barely anyone cares. maybe its not art block making me so inactive, its a good fraction of my "followers"
