Danielle was sitting at the beach letting the water touch her feet and grabbing the sand letting it seep from her hand

Reed stretched his arms, and yawned, as he made his way down to the shore, hoping to enjoy the warm weather while he still could. He took a look around, appreciating the scenery, when he spotted a familiar face, Danielle, sitting in the sand. "Oh hey, Dannielle!" He greeted without hesitation, as he made his way toward her.

Danielle heard the voice and looked to see Reed she smiled gently and greeted Reed "Reed its so nice to see you!"

Reed chuckled, burying his hands in his pockets. "Yeah, same here. Enjoying the waves?" He slipped his feet out of his sandals, so as to feel the cool water as well.

"Yea its nice" Danielle looked at the ocean "What else have you been up to?"

"Oh, you know," He paused to shrug, "Mostly just practicing with my magic and art... Acelynn says I've been wasting my summer. Which I guess is partially true," He gave a nervous laugh.

"But you make progress at least youre doings the things you like" she smiled

"That's what I say!" He laughed. "Well, what about you? What have you been doing?"

Danielle giggles "Not much enjoying the scenery and vibe from the island" she looks down "Havent really talked to people lately"

"That's too bad, but I guess I can relate.." He scratched his head, before sitting on the ground beside her, resting his arms on his knees. "So, what are are you going to do after this?" His voice lowered.

"Yea..." she responded as she looked at the sky "I dont know....I dont know whats left for me anymore"

He was silent for a moment, before saying, "Don't say that.." His face became concerned. "I'm sure.. no, I know there's plenty out there for you!" He sat back, leaning with his hands against the sand. "Isn't there anything you want to do?"

She looked at him suprised by his reaction "I dont know..I mean I just cant really see myself doing anything its all just a blur.." she looked at him "Dont mind me what are you going to do?"

"Er.. I haven't figured that out either. I guess I could go back to my homeland. Or further my studies.. I hear some great magic schools have opened up enrollment." He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "Maybe you could check them out!"

"Really? I'd like that" she smiles

"Cool, so you'd like to continue magic?" He said, his face brightening by her response.

She giggles "Definetly! Id love to learn more water techniques!"

"Yeah! Water is probably my second favorite elemental type of magic." He nodded in approval. "But hey, see? You do have something you want to do!"

"That great! Whats your first?" She smiled "And your right and I look foward to it!

"I like earth magic," He paused, caught up in thought. "But that may be because it was the first kind I learned. Familiarity, and all that," He chuckled.

"Thats nice" she smiled "Reed...I know that you have feelings for someone else and well I just wanted to get this off my chest" she took a deep breath "I liked you, you were really nice to me and I was so happy hanging and talking to you and I just wanted to say Thank You I was going to tell you on my birthday but it slipped my mind" she looked down at the water

Reed froze, and his expression went blank. He quickly averted his eyes, unsure of what to say. "...I'm sorry." He finally said, his eyes on the sand beside him.

She looked down "Sorry for what? You have nothing to apologize for I understand its my fault..."

((Don't be, mwahaha))

"N-no, it's my fault.. Or I, I don't know.." He stumbled on his words, hiding his face, afraid of letting her see whatever expression he was making. He covered his mouth to force himself to stop, and paused for a moment to calm down. "If... if I may have... lead you on, or anything like that, I'm just really sorry... And I'm sorry I that can't.." He trailed off, unable to finish.

She becomes worried "Reed its ok...Its not your fault...you didnt lead me on..youre not to blame" she clutches her shirt

He remained quiet for a moment. He knew he couldn't deny that he did nothing wrong, but he somehow felt like he did. "I feel like an idiot." He finally muttered with a shaky laugh.

Danielle starts to feel frustrated "Reed you did nothing wrong! I told you because I wanted you to know that I care not for you to return my feelings or feel bad!"

He shook his head lightly, keeping his eyes down. "It's okay, Danielle. I'm sorry for what came for me. Thank you for not blaming me." He sighed. "It's just that I'm finally starting to understand something." He hesitated for a moment, before shaking his head. "Ah, nevermind, it's probably just wishful thinking." Finally, he raised his head to look at her. "You're a wonderful person, Danielle. I'm lucky to have you as a friend. I'm sorry I can't return your feelings, but if you'll let me, I'd like to continue being your friend."

"And thats what I wanted to hear" she then laughs quietly "I can see why you like her...she everything im not" she muttered to herself

"Wh-what?" He felt his face turn warm, but brushed it off. "Ah come on, don't say that." He became sheepish. "One day... One day, you're going to find someone way more deserving of you than me to fall for you. And that guy had better be grateful, because he'll be one lucky person!"

She sighs and laughs "I dont think so the first one found someone and the other one completely forgot about me" she laughs through the pain that she had "I'll just be alone"

Reed gives her a disgruntled look. "Well, I said 'deserving.' I'd be glad someone like that left me if I were you. Their loss!"
