I have a question for everybody.
So, I'm still pretty new to hosting a roleplay. Is there anything I should try to improve on? Or does anybody have a suggestion on making this RP better?)

Well, I guess I'll go ahead and start now.)

(As for locations right now, I believe Frostbite, Leiko, and Cactus have gone to the basement, while Julian, Marles, Tot, Alexis, Griffeth, and Raisha would be in the main room.)

"I can't wait to pound those shadow things into the ground for waking me up." Alexis grinned, "To the basement!" She made a beeline for the hallway that lead to the basement.

The basement itself was pitch-black. It was nearly impossible to see. Frostbite's hooves could be heard clicking against the stone floor.

Marles was unsure, but still slowly walked in the direction Alexis went.
Tot flew behind Alexis. "Lead the way!"

"Frostbite!" Cactus whispered. He hopped down from Leiko's arms and looked around the room.

Raisha's tail lashed as she heard loud noises and voices. She followed them from a distance, making sure to keep quiet.

Alexis stopped for a moment at the top of the stairs, "Oh would you look at that, Griffeth's already charging down there." She glanced at Marles, "Ehh, careful, these stairs don't exactly have railings."

"Hey, you followed me?" Frostbite's blue eyes were illuminated in the darkness, "The basement's normally off limits to us..."

Marles continued following. "al- alright, I will."
Tot went ahead and made it to the bottem. "...."

"We were worried..." Leiko said nervously to Frostbite. Cactus sat beside her and nodded.

Alexis began making her way down the stairs. "Geeze, why's it so dark down here? It's never like that... Be careful not to fall. It's a long way down."

"Oh, well, thank you for your concern!... I just don't know why Drake would come down here..."
Frostbite wondered out loud.
Her ears perked up when she saw Tot come down from above, "Hi, Tot."

"Frostbite, Leiko? Are you guys there?" Drake's voice echoed from behind a large pillar. "You may want to look up... But try not to freak out when you do."

Leiko looked up to see green, glowing eyes above them. She stayed completely still, hoping the creature wouldn't attack.

Raisha followed them down the stairs, slinking through the railing and into the cover of the shadows.

Marles slowly went down stairs trying to be careful.
Tot looked at Frostbite. "Hey." He was a bit confused about what Drake said and he looked up. "..."

"That's new." Alexis pointed her blade towards the green eyes. "I bet that thing's been sending it's little minions after us."

The eyes centered their gaze on Leiko, but the creature still stayed perfectly still.
Suddenly, Griffeth came stomping down the stairs, but he stopped short, "My word, is that a beholder? I haven't seen one of those in years..."

"I think it's the reason why its so dark in here." Drake whispered.
The beholder made a hissing sound when Griffeth arrived. Yet it still didn't move.

Raisha's foot slipped and she stumbled into view. Defiantly swishing her tail, she looked at everyone.

Cactus jumped onto Leiko's shoulder and looked right up at the creature. He let out a quiet hiss.

Marles finally made it and seeing everyone, she looked up. "..." a part of her was not really surprised.
Tot saw Marles and flew near her. "Lookie lookie, it's big." He smiled playfully.

Griffeth was startled at Raisha's sudden appearance, "Woah there, don't move. You may cause the beholder to-"
He was cut off by the beholder growling.

The beholder's deep rumbling growl slowly shifted to speech.
"Griffeth of Levia!" It roared, "This is a warning from the Summoner of Fate."

Griffeth stared in shock, "Wh-wha..." He stammered, but he couldn't get the words out.

Marles stayed quiet.
Tot sat on her shoulder. He whispers "what?"

Cactus jumped down from Leiko, "What...? It can-"

Raisha remained quiet, but peered up with her red eyes. She flicked her tail.

"You will surrender the ruins in three days."
The beholder's voice shook the Academy.
Griffeth shook his head, "And if I don't?"

"You will pay the ultimate price.
First, your students.
Then, your 'children'.
Then, you."

Griffeth stood in silence for a moment.

"You have three days. We are always watching." The beholder muttered.

"S-SHUT UP. If you think we'd ever give the academy to you, then you're INSANE." Alexis chucked her blade directly at the beholder, but it was stopped a mile away by a shield of some kind.
"What the-?!"
Her sword hit the ground with a clatter.

Cactus let out a growl, he was outraged. Leiko picked him up and held on to him to prevent him from attacking.

Marles was scared, but tried not to show it.
Tot let out a quiet growl.

Raisha tensed, preparing to shift if they attacked. What was these things?

The beholder's voice suddenly changed, as if two different voices were speaking at once.
"Fate knows all about you.
Julian Alvarez, Raisha, Marles, Tot, Leiko, Cactus, Frostbite, Drake..." The beholder looked over each as it named them off.
"And your fate has already been decided, Guardian." It stared at Alexis.

The beholder suddenly vanished and a blinding burst of light.

Marles covered her eyes by the blinding light. "..."
Tot looked around at everyone. "Is everyone ok?"

Raisha looked down to see a cut on her wrist. A loose stone had fallen. She ignored the bleeding bruise and looked around the ceiling. She did not like the sound of that thing, whatever it meant.

Cactus looked at Griffeth, "Who does he think he is? 'Able to decide our fates'!" Cactus hissed.
"Cactus, calm down." Leiko said as she looked around worriedly.

(looked at Alexis*)

"H-hey... Is everyone ok?" Drake emerged from behind the pillar, "That was... Really awful..." He said with fear in his voice.

"That thing will regret ever threatening the Ruins Academy..." Alexis growled, enraged by the beholder's words, "And NOBODY threatens the people who come here!"

Griffeth stayed silent for a long moment, facing the ground. "...No other creatures speak except familiars." He said, "That thing... WAS a familiar... But it's not anymore."

Raisha suddenly spoke, "What was that thing? How does it know me?" Her eyes glowed in the darkness.

Marles let out a sigh of relief. She looked at Grifveth "Wh-what do you mean b-by 'was' a fimiliar? and is that even posable..." Thinking about for a moment.
Tot stayed quiet.

Cactus sat down and stayed silent, clearly still angry about the creatures words.
Leiko gave him a worried look, but didnt say a word.

Drake walked over to the group, making sure everyone was ok. He noticed Raisha had a cut on her wrist. "Here." He dug in his pocket and pulled out a roll of gauze and offered some to her. "I'm not sure how it knew any of us... But it was just... Not normal."

Alexis looked at Julian, "Whether it means it or not, I'll be ready when it comes back." Her eyes were a burning red color. The same color lit up the walls.
The room was no longer pitch black.
"Don't worry, I won't let that thing harm any of you.
...Nothing decides my fate but me..." She mumbled to herself.

"It's just my theory." Griffeth said to Marles, "These shadow creatures are unnatural--magic based, you know?
And as far as I understand, no other beasts like that can speak, other than familiars. We must find where they keep coming from!"

Raisha nodded and accepted the roll of gauze. "Those things better not come back."

"So I guess now we have to come up with a way to protect this place, right?" Leiko asked Griffeth.

Marles wanted to learn more about the beasts. "Well... i-is there any way I c-can help?"
Tot looked at Leiko. "You do have a point..."

"It sounded like they would...
'Three days'... Why that many?" Drake said.

Alexis' rage quieted down after a few moments. She looked at Griffeth with a worried expression, "First the other teachers leave and now this... Poor Griff..."

"Hah, not to worry, I've been working on a spell for that purpose for a while now. I'll just need Alexis' help." Griffeth grinned. He turned to Marles, "Actually, I was hoping you'd say that.
For now, since things have calmed down, why don't we all head to the dorms.
I'm sure you all need a good rest after this... Insanity."

Griffeth cleared his throat, "Perhaps I should ask you all first.
Have you ever seen a shadow creature other than these before? I could use all the information I can get to perfect this shield spell..."

Marles thought for a moment. "N-no..."
Tot looked over. "No shadow type beings. Nope, none that I can remember."

Frostbite nodded, "Yeah, it attacked Raisha for some reason... I helped her fight them off... Then there was this weird person who told us about how you can't kill them."

Griffeth looked interested, "Hmm... It doesn't make much sense for it to attack such a crowded place..."

Tot flew around. "Oh yeah that thing."
Marles looked at Tot. "wasn't there someone who wanted to buy an item, but they didn't sell it to them. There was a commotion about that to."

"That sounds very suspicious.
Perhaps that person has something to do with the attack?
...If these creatures truly ARE familiars..." Griffeth wondered.

"Oh! And the same person who told us about how you can't beat those shadow creatures told us to find her in Levia..." Frostbite said.

"Maybe we could search for them?" Leiko suggested.
Cactus finally seemed to have calmed down. He sat down beside Leiko and appeared to be deep in thought.

Marles was paying attention. "It's posable..."
Tot floated there. "This is good and all, but what good is information without notes."

"Would you be willing to search?" Griffeth asked them, "I'd hate to put you all in danger, but I'm not exactly sure that's even avoidable now..." Griffeth looked at them, concerned.
At hearing Tot's comment his eyes suddenly widened, and in an instant he was digging through the pocket of his robe. "Oh where is that blasted scroll when I need it..."

"Well, at least you have a good memory..." Frostbite yawned, "But I'm not searching anywhere for anyone until I get some sleep..."

Cactus looked at Frostbite and silently nodded.

"I'm willing to search." Leiko said to Griffeth.

Tot smiled at Frostbites comment. "I have to agree."
Marles just smiled.

"Sounds good to me..." Drake yawned, "Ugh, yawns are contagious..." He rubbed his eyes.

"We can discuss this more tomorrow. For now, take a good rest, you all deserve it." Griffeth smiled.

Tot smiled and plopped on Marles's shoulder, already half asleep. yawning "That's a good idea..."
Marles smiled. "Yeah... good idea."

Drake smiled at Julian, though he seemed half asleep, "I don't mind. This way." He started up the stairs.

Frostbite shook herself awake, "Gotta get to the dormitory before I pass out..." She began the long climb up the stairs as well.

Griffeth stood in the basement room still, looking bothered about something, but he seemed to forget about it, "Good night." He called as they went up the stairs.

Leiko picked up Cactus then followed after the group, hoping to finally get some sleep.

Marles followed the others. Tot was practically asleep.

After a while of stair climbing they arrived in the main room. Alexis was already standing in the middle of the room, asleep. The lights of the Academy dimmed once again.
Drake turned and went down the hall that lead to the men's dormitory. "Yay... I get to open the door again... Magic doors are soooo fun." He said sarcastically.

Marles just made it up, poking Tot to wake him up. "Go over so you can sleep."
Tot lazily flew up and went over. "yep... going."

Cactus jumped out of Leiko's arms, "See you tomorrow." he yawned. He slowly followed behind Drake and Julian.

Leiko watched him walk away then headed to the girl's dormitory.

Frostbite made a dash for the girl's dormitory, then leaned her head against the door lazily.
"Could one of you open the door, please?
My claws don't work on the magic circle-y thing..." She looked up at the indent on the door.

Drake, Julian, and Tot finally made it to the door of the dormitory. Drake placed his hand in the indent on the door and shivered.
The door slid open, revealing a hall of rooms. "They're all free, so pick whichever one you like." He said.

Leiko put her hand on the door, and it slid open. Leiko headed to her room and stared out the window for a moment before going to bed.

"Thanks." Cactus said to Drake. He chose the first room he saw and went to sleep.

Tot when to the first room and fell onto the bed.
Marles slowly made her way to the girls dorm.

(In that last comment I forgot Cactus, sorry. <xD)

Drake walked to the room all the way to the back of the hall, "G'night." He said, still sounding half aslerp.

Frostbite charged for her room, opened the door, and went inside.
Then immediately poked her head out, "'Night!" She chimed before gently closing her door.

The next day... More like afternoon. The boy's dormitory was suddenly shaken by the sound of an explosion, followed by a very grouchy sounding Griffeth.
"Can you actually focus instead of messing around?!" It was hard to make out, but it sounded like he was outside.

In the girl's dormitory, the explosion was just as loud. The windows didn't help either.

Leiko jolted awake and stayed still for a minute. She tiredly opened the door and looked into the hallway.

"Grrrr...." Cactus walked into the hallway, "What was that?"

Tot flew up in shock. "What was that?!" He flew into the hallway.
Marles was already awake, but the explosion still startled her. She when to the hall and went to the main room.

Drake opened his door and wandered over to Julian's. He lightly knocked, "Hey, Julian, Are you ok in there?" He asked, concerned.

From the boy's dormitory, Alexis' voice could barely be heard as well, "I can't help it, you look hilarious when you're mad!"

Frostbite was wandering in the main room when the explosion happened, "Boy, sounds like they're having fun."

Leiko headed to the main room and saw Cactus waiting for her, "You heard it too?" Leiko asked him. Cactus nodded.

(Well, Frostbite, Julian, Tot, and Marles explained to Griffeth what happened at the trader's festival. They decided that they'd go to Levia to look for the person who explained the shadow creature's invincibility.
Then everyone went to the dormitories and got woken up by an explosion.

...And I accidentally said "aslerp."

(Can we just pretend Raisha was there the whole time?

Tot flew near Drake. "Hey is everyone ok? and plus, what was that?!"
Marles was heading outside to see what was going on.

Drake sighed, "Probably Griffeth working on a spell.
I think it's that anti-shadow creature thing he was talking about..." Drake looked at Julian's door, "I'm sorry about that, Griffeth just doesn't know when NOT to work on a spell."

Frostbite dashed over next to Cactus, "That came from outside, I'm gonna go see what's going on. Do you wanna come?"

"Sure!" Leiko said. She and Cactus followed Frostbite outside.

Marles was outside trying to find where that explosion came from. She saw Griffeth and slowly walked over. "hm?"
Tot let out a small chuckle. "That reminds me, I wonder if everyone else is alright."

Drake nodded, "It's probably a good idea." He started down the hall. "The last time something like this happened we ended up with a big hole in the wall...
Nobody was hurt though."

Outside, Griffeth and Alexis were standing by a pillar with odd markings on it.
"Gah, for the guardian of the ruins, you're so immature!" Griffeth grunted.
"I'm sure that by 'ruin guardian standards' I'm crazy." Alexis snorted, obviously enjoying every second of Griffeth's tantrum.

Tot followed behind. "Really? wow, that must have been big."
Marles got closer to the two. "Uh, h-hello. and uh, g-good morning?"

"Morning!" Drake smiled, "I imagine you heard the explosion too, right? We're going to see what Griffeth did to cause it."

Frostbite stepped out of the ruins, "There they are." She looked at Griffeth and Alexis.

The two of them were starting to use the spell again. A magic bubble appeared on the pedestal of stone. "Now FOCUS." Griffeth commanded. Alexis snorted in laughter again, "You got it."

Leiko looked at Frostbite, "Do you know what they're doing?" She asked.

Tot flew over, "Lets find them, so we can eat!"
Marles stared. "Yeah... for food." She walked outside seeing everyone else.

Griffeth had a very pouty expression on his face.
Alexis was trying to hold in her laughter, but eventually couldn't hold it in. She burst into laughter, causing the bubble to explode into a big cloud of pink smoke.

"It looks like they're having a hard time with that bubble-thing..." Frostbite said.

"Ok, woah, lots of pink smoke." Drake said as he emerged from the ruins.
