Shira by cianatherabbit
A species I made up. They're called Shira. At night, most of them transform into monsters with only one instinct: Feed. If they don't feed, they will die by morning. A few are able to control this power, and a few don't transform at all, such as this one.

Uhhh...I wasn't planning on letting people adopt these little guys, but if they get popular, I might consider.
