Mountain climbing with Misoku! by Witzke
Hi guys! To those of you who saw the test drawing I posted recently on my second account @Chezpin, this is the result of that test (Maybe more of a final exam?) I'm really happy with this! A lot of the time my bgs are kind of low quality, and I try to make them better but I'm just not the best with bgs. FInally I have a bg/scenery that, to me anyways, feels like it actually compliments the characters as well!! Thank you God for helping me do this ^ ^! This is close to what I want Misoku to look like as a show. Drawn people and painted backgrounds. I don't want too much of a contrast though, otherwise it'll look weird. (I don't actually know if he has actually climbed a mountain in my story yet. He's walked up one on a path.) Any criticism/thoughts/ideas are appreciated! Thank you SO much for looking at this! WOW!
I love how beautiful the background is yet it doesn't take away all your focus from the character. It's detailed but with no outline. Even the background being a little foggy gives it that nice touch. This pic is AMAZING!!! I really need to watch the playback to see how to make backgrounds like you do.

This looks incredible! The background has detail, but in a way that compliments the character artstyle. I think you nailed the look!

This style combination often has great results! One thing to keep in mind: Be careful with "props" that can be or will be both background and closeup. For example, a door may look detailed and painterly in a background, but should it still look that way if a character interacts with it, or should it be flat-colored like the character? Little choices like that.

Hey. Witzke. It seems every user I click on you've left a comment on at least one of their drawings. You seem to be pretty active overall. What's the reasoning behind this though?
