Mostly shading practice, but heres Scratch showing off his powers.
The collar he wears gives him more control over the flames and helps him use them without taking up so much of his focus and energy, and the crystals on it glow blue when he is using his powers. Without the collar he still has his power to control and summon flames, but he has less control over them, they're smaller/more weak, and he gets tired after a short amount of time.
