I finished my Chara cosplay months ago actually. It came out really good! I even wore it to a convention.
So I'm doing my Kirby gijinka design now. It looks like a lot of writing I know. But have to plan it out before I jump in. It's going to be my summer side project.
Does this count as Crossplaying? He looks girlyish already and a huge percent of human Kirby cosplayers are girls appearently. So it doesn't really matter.

By that I mean post the clothing design on deviantArt? I know I didn't post Chara. But let's be honest, Chara's design is super simple.(Plus the red on my locket got rubbed off and I'm too lazy to fix it. Plus I bought half the things for it.) Kirby is actually simple too but has more details. Think of him as the next level in my cosplaying.
Also you won't see my face. My face is a big no-no. Just the outfit layed out.
So do you guys want to see it when I'm done?

I do not have/use DA, sooo.
But as for crossplaying? I think not. I think Kirby is honestly just "male" for the sake of dialog. He's no more male than he is female, in my book. So no worries or anything there, if any.
So far my cosplay wardrobe is Link, Sir Bedevere (Monty Python) and Captain Kirk :b All original pieces by me and my fam.

Re: Well I'm planning to make a Hylian Shield. I used Red's *cough*knockoff*cough* Master Sword (which actually looks really cool and pretty darn close). I have the boots, gloves (with the left having the triforce), and hat all made to look like the OoT style. I have cheap pointy ears... And no wig... the tunic is an earthy green shirt that looks Linkish, and I wear a white-longsleeve under, and khakis xD

re: 3 conventions and like 2 halloweens xD I upgraded each time. My first was halloween a few years ago, and it looked like crahp xD I was in a bright green "tunic", with a dark green hat, tiny cheap ears, a cheap short sword, white tights, and no undershirt. Basically a white-panted Young Link xD
I've upgraded to matching sage colors, and obviously gaunlets, belts, boots, etc.
What I really want to do is make a sheathe to fit Red's Master Sword into. THEN a shield and wig.

Yeah, my hair color is like, perfect. But's wayyy too short. Nowhere near Link's xD
Yeah, no wig cap xD I have some fake wigs for other things and it's itchy enough, I can't imagine how it is for you.

re: Ahhh! Well, I was like 13 when I started the costume xD And I had much less of a wallet to spend on cool attire/pieces. I suspect you may have had something of similar, whether be of experience or expense.
Well, I have this one black wig that can get itchy from the head cap inside of it. The rim gets a bit raw on my head xD And the extra hair tickles my forehead cuz I never have that long of hair, so I'm not usually use to it xD
