So my right hinge just broke off. First of all, I'm not gonna be able to draw until I get this repaired or something. Secondly, let me describe my exact reaction when it fell off.
I closed the DS and it just cracked and plopped off. I whispered "What?". Then I started to evaluate if it was a dream or not. Spoiler: It wasn't a dream. I sat down and tried to fix it. Spoiler: I made it worse.
Anecdote and Question: For a while now I wanted a new 3DS XL. My parents didn't get it. I recently got-

some b-day money and I have been saving a lot of money for it. Ok question time! First, what's the whole deal with sending your DS to Nintendo to fix it? Do you have to pay extra after shipping? How long does it take to come back? I have a couple broken parts that fell off. Do I send them with the DS? Secondly, should I get a new DS? Is it actually worth it? I wouldn't have any money left.

Both L and R buttons dont work so i changed the controls. but i dont play many games anymore so i dont use L and R much. But your choice if you wanna get it fixed

As long as your ds still works, just keep it around so you can transfer your data to the new ds when you get one. its better than paying like seventy or one hundred dollars to repair it
