Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King
This game is probably my favorite traditional JRPG of all time. It never failed to draw me in with its vast and colorful world, its music that invokes a sense of magic and wonder, and it's memorable cast of characters. Aside from Fire Emblem Awakening, this is possibly my favorite group of characters in a video game. They're diverse and play off of each other very well. The hero, though being a silent protagonist, has several moments in the story that reveal his mysterious past, ranging from heartwarming to bittersweet. Yangus always puts a smile on my face with his goofy antics, and he has some of the most genuinely heartfelt moments in the game. Jessica is just badass with her no nonsense attitude and powerful spells. I didn't find Angelo to be particularly memorable (maybe my mind will change when I replay the game on 3DS), but I still think he brings something important to the group dynamic. Even the non playable characters of the group are interesting. King Trode is fun to watch as he maintains a regal composure despite the state he's in, and the back and forth he has with Yangus is great. As for Medea, I don't want to spoil too much, but let's just say there's a lot more to her character that gets revealed as the story goes on.

BTW I'm gonna hold a poll on Miiverse to determine what character I draw next. I didn't get a lot of results last time, so I thought I'd try it somewhere people would see it. My account on Miiverse is TimePaladin. : )

Ironically, me and Witzke were just looking up Dragon Quest pictures just the other day.
I'm impressed at how well you mimicked Toriyama's style!

Additionally ironically, I saw that girl in sone sort of Dragon Quest version of Hyrule Warriors. My first thought: Who in the world dresses like that in this kind of a situation?!
I always wonder what possesses people to dress their characters up in such a manner, especially when they're in a combat scenario.

Have you ever played Dragon Quest: Realms of Revelation? Omg that game was AMAZING!

Awesone Dragon Quest drawing! I've never actually played that one (due to it being on Playstation) But I'm very excited to play this AND 7 on the 3DS soon! Dragon Quest and Golden Sun are a tie for my favorite JRPG. I love Golden Sun's story characters and mechanics, but I also love the whole Dragon Quest charm to the games.

I've never played a Dragon Quest game, but I've known of it. I have a PS3 that can play PS games, so if I see tnis game available to me, I might pick it up!
And I also thought from the thumbnail this was Witzke's drawing xD Because of his eye-artstyle that is similar to the protag's here.
^I have Golden Sun and Golden Sun (something of dusk, I think) on GBA, but I haven't finished the first, but the puzzles and story is pretty cool, but the battles I'm having a hard time understanding.

^I played Golden Sun: Dark Dawn on DS. I picked it up not knowing what is was or that it's the third game in the series *facepalm* but it was very good! It took me FOREVER to understand the whole battle style and I still don't really understand it! It's even more complicated than Pokemon!

Huh, now that you guys mention it, I can see how people would confuse the hero for Witzke. Both the eyes and color scheme are similar. XD

Just a side note, Mr. Paladin:
People think that Witzke drew it not only because of the eyes, but the entire art style in general resembles his art style! It's because Witzke tries to mimic the art style of Akira Toriyama, who is not only the man behind Dragon Ball, but is also the guy who draws the Dragon Quest art!
Toriyama is the one who inspired Witzke to draw the way he does, so seeing an art style that resembles his causes people that know Witzke to automatically associate this kind of art with him. Gee, that was a lengthy note, but I hope that clears some confusion up.

^Oh, I see, that's pretty cool! : ) I've drawn inspiration from other artists myself. One of my earliest inspirations while I was on Colors was Tetsuya Nomura, particularly with how he did outlining and shading.

Re: Oh, PS2? Well I have my uncle's PS2 so I might find it still :) Plus the graphics'd be better than PS so that's good xD
